Thanks for the link to nPhoto. It looked pretty good so I signed up for a year using their 48hours 20% discount.

I am going to let my subscription to Popular Photography expire. Why: It seems to be getting thinner and thinner every issue. The articles aren't very interesting. I have also noticed that the major photography retailers have cut back on their advertising, i.e. B&H and Adorama used to have several pages showing their products and now one or two. What publications are you fellow "hogs" reading that worthwhile?
Not only is it getting thinner, if you read the EDITORS LETTER lately , she said the magazine plans to cut the number of issues to seven annually rather then the usual twelve . I decided not to renew my subscription also. I probably will stay with Outdoor Photography though.
Outdoor Photographer is the only magazine I still subscribe to. It is still the best in its field. I have never missed an issue. A lot of my growth as a photographer is a direct result of the magazine as well as the excellent books written by John Shaw. It also helped that I lived across the street from a great photographer/artist when I first started shooting, so there was always someone to get feedback and encouragement from.
Actually I'm down t one photo magazine, Outdoor Photographer, and if they stopped the deal they offer every year of Backpacker free with it I would probably drop that too. I've been reading photo mags since the 60's, articles seem to be reruns, of course so do TV programs and mystery plots, oh well, Bob.
Thanks to all for your inputs regarding photo magazines.
None. I read several on line.

Get an electronic subscription to Readly, you get access to about 15 photo mags (as well as hundreds of others) there monthly. Subscription is $9.95 a month. Works perfectly on my ipad! I used to buy several of the better magazines but as everyone knows the cost for those is quite high, the electronic version allows me to see almost all of them at a fraction of the price. No, I am not a salesman for Readly. There are a couple of other electronic services that do the same.
Check out the UK publication NPHOTO or CPHOTO? (Nikon or Canon) respectively.
I'm going to renew my sub. to "Shots" and drop the others (Outdoor Photographer, Digital Photo Pro, and Pop Photo).
There are myriad on line photo magazines, some quite good and free. Google & explore.
Try Apogee -- interesting nuggets along with basics.
I subscribe to Shutterbug, which I like. Then I decided (bad decision) to get it digitally and their platform for digital totally sucks and I am going back to getting a paper copy. I also like to read and often buy Popular Photography and other magazines depending on their specific content.
do you get the Sunday paper ? same thing with the Parade magazine is about 8 pages, maybe; don't know why they bother to publish it
