Nice! I have several of them in this color. I have the feeling that they can change color. I have photographed both colors (green & yellow) on the same bush on successive days.

Our grass hoppers are this color this summer. One was on my car today. I was wondering if they can change their color to blend in with their environment. We have suffered draught conditions here all summer.

Nice shots! Be careful if it is near the hummingbird feeders, they catch and eat hummers. I'd get him out of the yard.

I honestly thought you were kidding so I looked it up. Unbelievable!!! Those hummers are such feisty little buggers I wouldn't have thought it possible!
The mantis was in the bush in my yard where the hummers feed. If he's still there I will ask him to leave.

He was still there so I assisted him in a relocation........I will have to check to see if he returns.

I used to catch them when I was a kid in Arizona and bring them into the house to eat flies and mosquitos. Some of them were 3 inches long. My granddaughter found some in her garden today.
