Add http://www.jalbum.net to your search. Check prices on the site but a pro subscription is $55, other option is free.

If it's just for sharing, try any one of the free or low cost ones first. If your trying to sell and make money then try Photoshelter.com. Search engine optimization, choice of labs, customization, learning tools, etc.

I would suggest you check out; Weebly.com
They have a free service that will get you started, and if you like it you can expand your site according to need, etc.
I use it as a simple website that suits my needs to show certain work.

view my site as an example: www.mjschaerphotography.com

Thomas, you need to add '.com' to your web site link in order for it to work. Nice site. Nice job.

Greetings all,
I almost have enough photos saved up to justify getting a website.
Currenty I use Picasa and send the links to family and friends.
I'm looking at the Smugmug and Betterphoto pro websites.
They both look very similar as far as what is offered but one is $150.00/yr and the other is $349.00/yr.
Can anyone explain why one might be better than the other?
What about other sites? This is becoming a difficult decision.
Of course the price is a significant factor in the decision.
Thanks for any advice.

I use Zenfolio. I got it for 90.00 a year, which is the second highest level called the premium site. It gives your work a professional look and is easy to set up. You are also connected to a lab and buyers can purchase photos directly from the site.
You can try it for 2 weeks for free.
Give it a look.

Why not create or have create your own website blog like WillyPhictures.com as an example. Then you can create at the same time an email Willy @WillyPictures.com. Have a page created with many links to othe sites.
THat means you own all the above and do not depend on any outside provider. First you register your domain with a good company like GoDaddy.com
Then you have your site and email setup with GostGator.com to use wordpress.com system. If you do not know how to build a site, there are many young kids how to do it. And there are many examples on the net. Just Google.

Have you tried Zenfolio? They are pretty good. I don't have it, but I know several people who do, and like it.

i like zenfolio but unless you buy there premium package you can only send prints and have printed at cost. You cannot set prices for the customer to print unless you spend the 125.00 for a full account.

so unless you want to spend the 125 for a premium account i woulld not advise this.

I use Zenfolio and have been using it for years. Never a problem, always updating and my photos are crystal clear. Very affordable. Checkout: www.ricciardiimages.com and you will get a pretty god idea as to what this site looks like

Very nice website.
But if you have such a site, why do you have an email called fjrnh@comcast.net ? Why not have fjrnh@ricciardiimages.com or ricciardi@ricciardiimages.com ?
You own your web, why not own your own email. Your email is at the mercy of comcast. You can also do email forwarding like name@yourweb.com to name@comcast.com
When you do that every body reads your email and you can open it in name@comcast.com
Having your own email shows you are a professional.
Check mine http://www.LetPicturesTalk.com and email Ronny@LetPicturesTalk.com I have also 2 real estate websites and both have 2 personal emails attached to it.
When working with several email addresses I created filters to get each incoming email to drop in the right destination.
