Many years back, my father's construction company was overhauling public school classrooms in Philadelphia, which included trashing many student desks. If they left dozens on the curb, nobody would take them. When they put only a few on the curb each night, they were gone by morning. No hauling fees and many happy "customers"!
Jerry, if you keep on selling things in Ebay you are going to end up rich.
When I have sonething to discard, I put it behind the garage with a note 'solid waste' so recycle pickup will take it. But there are scrubby looking pickups that cruise the alleys and stuff, sometimes even real junk' get scavenged. I our town that can get a citation.

I put an item online one time and listed a fair price, which was actually under blue book (A Motorcycle). I got no bites at all. I raised the price a hundred bucks and relisted it...sold the next day.
There is an called CLOSE 5 that works nicely for local buyers.
Craigs List works remarkably well. I've bought and sold (and given away) things there.

Right. Some people know that, and some don't. I always hesitate before I put a Christmas gift in the box for the mail carrier. Maybe she'll turn me in.
A mail carrier won't turn you in....
The Box is at your address.
Only you and the Mail Carrier can use the box.
In fact, once you install the Mail Box it becomes the property of the U.S.P.S.
