I have been totally satisfied using B&H, Adorama and KEH over many years. If there's a problem they take care of it. Amazon has fluctuating prices, some items prices will change more than once a day and Amazon is definitely not the always cheapest seller.

I've bought from B&H and Amazon. Even if you buy from B&H, check out the negative reviews for the product on Amazon for a potential heads up.

If you want cheaper prices, get on amazon a few times looking for what you want and wait a few days.they will send you a lower price more than 1/2 the time.if you know the lowest price from all other places and amazon happens to offer a lower price, then buy from them.(sorry amazon ,but the cat is out of the bag).and by they way, thanks for the info on refurbished equipment from big companies like canon, nikon, ect.I snagged a refurbished canon camcorder hfg20 for $499.00.I love it.

I try to stay away from B&H because of their terrible labor practices.

Wow. I had no idea at all. Ironic, for such a devoutly religious organization. Or maybe not. Either way, they just lost my business.

B&H does not and has never purposely discriminated against any individual or group. We conform to all local, state and federal laws regarding recruitment, hiring and employment. We understand there are baseless accusations and unsubstantiated accusations percolating throughout the internet, but they are untrue.

http://forward.com/opinion/letters/342769/at-bh-were-negotiating-in-good-faith-with-our-workers/

Our store staff is as diverse as NYC itself up to and including the managerial level. The sales staff has not been and is not now exclusively or even predominantly white, Orthodox men. You may wonder about our recruiting. We do a variety of things to attract potential hires but one thing we do is ask current employees for their recommendations. Many companies, large and small, do the same. The benefit is talking to possible new hires who know a bit about us. Recommendations from current employees often include friends, former co-workers, relatives and neighbors. People, in other words, who are similar to those now employed here.

The allegations being made by warehouse workers are likewise unproven and untrue. There is no asbestos, no lung-searing clouds of dust, no flakes of fiberglass peeling off the ceiling. The restrooms are as clean as those our Superstore customers use. There are no "substandard conditions."

There are not and have never been separate restrooms, except male & female. Every person older than 14 I know has a cellphone with a camera. If there were or are separate unsanitary restrooms I think we’d have seen photos of them in various social media. There has not been one. There have been reports from non-employees who have visited our warehouses recently reporting clean, safe, well-lit working conditions and restrooms as sanitary as those set aside for customers in our retail store.

The employees are not, as has been widely reported, "undocumented." Other than take-home pay, every B&H employee, including the warehouse workers, me and my boss, get the EXACT same menu of benefits.

"B&H does not and has never purposely discriminated against any individual or group."

So why this? ....The company settled that suit in 2009 by agreeing to pay $4.3 million to 149 employees who were paid less, withheld from promotions or denied benefits because they were Hispanic.

Why this? ....Lawyers for B&H offered $112,000 in what they called a “take-it-or-leave-it good faith offer.”

You paid out $4.3 million when you didn't do anything wrong? You offered $112,000 when all the previous problems were totally corrected?

I thought that ugly hedgehog was for the common person who wanted to air out there laundry not employees and bosses of companies under the microscope. If you guys want to air out something,go ahead as long as you are not trying to dispute or defend what you guys know is true.go ahead and talk about other subjects.

So there is in fact a women's restroom in the warehouse? If so, this item would put the reports under scrutiny in my view. If not, well...

We entered into a consent decree (7-1/2 years ago) and set aside $4.3 million in a fund to pay out any subsequent claims filed by employees who could then make a legal case that we had in fact underpaid them. Doing so was more efficient and far less expensive than protracted legal battles. When we did, the EEOC said:

“We commend B & H for working cooperatively with us to resolve this matter without protracted litigation,” said EEOC New York Trial Attorney Lou Graziano. “We encourage other employers to follow B & H’s example of resolving discrimination cases expeditiously and in good faith.”

Yes, and nowadays I've stopped going to court, wasting a day and watching my blood pressure rise every time i get a parking ticket. Sometimes settling a case is simpler, speedier and less expensive than fighting it. I'm sure there are those who would disagree.

BTW, the accusations about “unsanitary and often inoperable restrooms” is an outright lie. There's no other way to characterize it.

Thanks for the reply. I'm both an Amazon and a B&H customer. Hopefully the case will be settled to your satisfaction.

I'm a bit surprised on how Bob came around. Still looking for an answer on whether there is a women's lavatory.
