I'm a bit surprised on how Bob came around. Still looking for an answer on whether there is a women's lavatory.

I swore to myself that I would stay out of this, but here it goes! Let me ask you, do you have a women's lavatory in your place of residence, and if not should I think less of you. I work in a busy Real Estate office with three bathrooms, labeled as such. There is no single bathroom reserved for any particular group. Whichever one is closer to when the need arises is the one utilized. Works somewhat the same at home. If this really worries you, why not start a survey of ALL camera stores or better yet ALL companies to try and uncover this earth shaking issue. Henry can't say it, but I can. If this really bothers you, PLEASE take your business to somewhere else and stop trying to start a problem where there is none. If you do, I will pledge to Henry to do an additional $ 20 in business this year to make up for your loss. So, either stick to photographic issues or go elsewhere to harass other fine companies. Whatever you chose, please stop commenting about an issue you know nothing about! Have a wonderful day!

An absurd and unrelated question. But since you addressed me directly, the bathrooms in my home, as in most every home I know of, are of course unisex. In fact, this is also a an acceptable answer for a business operation. If you had read all the related info, you would know that this was a key allegation. I thought it a perfectly reasonable question in this case.

Don't worry. I shall ask no more.

Exactly my point. Since it is "an absurd and unrelated question" why are you so adamant about learning the answer as it relates to B&H and why do you act like you must be given the answer to continue dealing with them. To make a long story short, I have no idea what the bathroom setup is, nor do I care. You seem to be imposing your own judgement without any facts at all. If this issue is troubling please deal directly with B&H, not on a public forum devoted to photography. The only comment that I can make from fact, and by having been to their NYC store many times, is that they have great prices, great service and the best customer service around. Period! My opinion only. When I'm in their store, or on the phone, and talking to their employees they all have seemed happy and eager to help and always provide information above and beyond. When something goes wrong, which is rare, it is corrected quickly, cheerfully and above my expectations - solid gold customer service! I would think that those that run B&H would understand the basics of business - happy employees make happy customers! That's what I see. The next time I'm in the store in manhattan, I'll be sure to ask about the bathroom situation company wide and report back. By the way - their customer bathrooms are small but adequate for the purpose. Probably has something to do with real estate costing a billion dollars a square foot in the city! Geesus!

I use B&H, Adorama, Amazon, Cameta Camera (mostly for refurbs) and occasionally eBay.

For what ever its worth I have Ben reading a lot of bad things about B&H. I guess they have lost a lot of labor disputes. I will stick with Adorama

I also forgot to say my comment has nothing to do with bathrooms. Its sad for both sides when folks can't make a positive work environment. From the labor disputes I have Ben reading about the bathrooms are the least of there troubles

Agreed that the other issues are more significant. The whole point of the bathroom question was it would have been an easy way to show that in fact this specific allegation was either false, or has been since been addressed, and would have tended to show that the other items have been taken care of, or were untrue.

Discrimination on the basis of sex, race, creed, or any similar metric however, is completely unacceptable. Some may be able to overlook it, but not me.

I will give him the benefit of the doubt, when the case gets settled it should tell the whole story. By and large we really don't know until then unless someone wants to tour the warehouse.
I've had a bad experience this year with one of my children and the police and I recognize how the prosecutors extort a plea out of innocent people by hanging a prison sentence over their head even when they know it's a bad arrest. I know this was a bad arrest because it happened in my home. After $10K in legal fees it looks like we will agree to several thousand in fines and community service rather than chance a felony conviction and prison, which will ruin a person's income potential for life. I've been watching the new HBO series The Night Of with John Torturo and it is right on. I finished the first year of law school in 1971 and changed my mind about finishing the next two years and becoming a lawyer. I realized that whether you were a prosecutor or a defense attorney, the whole system had nothing to do with justice, just who was the better advocate.

As far as I know the labor disputes were only in regard to the 100+ warehouse workers, and conditions in the warehouse. I don't believe the retail store workers, or customer service workers were involved.

I use B&H, and am very satisfied with them, relatively recently Roberts Camera -- they may become my new favorite. Rarely use Adorama, no negatives in respect to purchases. I have gotten some truly remarkable lens and camera bargains on Ebay. I pay with PayPal, which is also guaranteed, and have not once had to exercise the guarantee on photo gear.

Really don't give a Rats about the bathroom nonsense, other than that every user of a public facility deserves privacy and security.

Once I started using ebay, I'd be very hard pressed to buy anything new. I have had dozens of purchases, of camera gear, musical instruments, computers, microscope and telescope gear and used the paypal full return option three times on ebay and twice more with online purchases of new items from other vendors. In all cases they resolved the issues. When items were returned I even got credited for postage and got free return shipping labels. Although I first notify the vendor, I found it best to put in the paypal claim within a couple of days, regardless what the vendor offers.

I have bought from B&H Photo in NYC. for many years, great customer service, excellent pros on hand to answer questions about products too. For myself I consider them a 5 star ***** company for your Photography and Video purchases.

Not real sure about Amazon, only dealt with them a few times, just bought a Refurbished Nikon accessory product from Amazon, will let you know if I have any issues with my purchase.

B&H, a independent owned company, relies on loyal customers that recognize their reputation for quality, and Customer Service. May not be cheapest, but stand behind their products. Knowledgeable Technical assistance too. I personally would recommend them for you Photographic and Video requirements.

Amazon or eBay for miscellaneous small items and legacy lenses. I have only ever returned one item and had no problems. I got a great deal on a gray market compact camera from eGlobalCentral and found them very fast and professional. I would use them again.

Lately, I have been trying to support my local brick-and-mortar camera store. They had a lens I was looking for in stock when it was four weeks back ordered everywhere on-line. They can usually match Amazon or B&H for main brand name stuff and can get it in the store in a day or two. Going to the store to pick it up gives me an excuse to browse and drool. There aren't many left and they deserve our support before they are all gone.
