But then you have to kind of do trial and error to make the size of the head correct. The passport tool on the passport web site (link has been posted above) easily guarantees the head size is correct.

I used local printer to make my prints as I don't have a printer and I have problem that they always crop a bit (my file would fit exactly a 4x6) and make the face a bit larger so I have to rescale the file after a test print to get it right.

Not ever having done it....couldn't you take a normal size photo and re-size it in photoshop?

It's just much easier to use the resize/crop tool on the passport website, because it automatically makes the head size correct.

If there is a Costco nearby, they do passport photos.

I will probably find a place to do it and have it done on Monday. The problem is we live out in the sticks and if our local court house doesn't do them it will be a 100 mile drive to a bigger town. Hopefully with some speedy delivery postage it will arrive back in time--my fault--learned a valuable lesson

UPS Stores do instant Passport photos.

Go to a AAA travel service office, they know what's required and they have the equipment to do it right. I forget what they charge, but not much.

If you quick and easy, go to a nearby drugstore of Fed Ex office and you can have correct passport pics in a few minutes.

if he's entering Canada by car he doesn't need a passport if a citizen of the U.S. ,but it does make it easier. All he needs is a legal identification with picture. Do a google search and I,m sure there all kind of info.

Drive to the closest post office and have them do it. They can expedite it for an extra fee. I wouldn't play around to save $6 for a photo when you are pressed for time.

I got mine done at the post office, where I submitted my completed application and paid a shakedown fee for expedited service. Much easier than doing it on my own.
