Thank you, now I understand you comment a little better I think. So for my camera with a battery grip, I can use six AA size "batteries" at either 1.5 or 1.2 volts each depending on the technology, and collectively they can deliver 9 or 7.2 volts depending on the technology? Is that what you mean? so equivalent to a Canon LP-E8 7.2 volt battery pack?

I don't think you meant 9 volts in a single AA form factor did you?

The 9 volt ("9V") battery I was referring is the form factor used in smoke alarms, etc a typical disposable cell ("AAA","AA","C" or "D") produces 1.5 Volts. (The size difference results in a difference in Amp-hours- life, Not voltage).A 9V battery is made up of 6 tiny 1.5 volt cells A 6volt "lantern" battery is made up of 4 1.5 volt larger cells. The big "lantern" type has lower voltage, but higher amperage than the 9V in a smoke alarm. On the other part of the question, Yes, a battery pack is a whole battery. (the individual cells are sealed in the "pack") When you put 4 individual cells ("AA" cells for example..) in a device, the collective cells form a battery. But, like I said it's a technical difference that hardly anyone today bothers with and most people call individual cells and batteries "batteries".

It was originally posted in the main photography forum and later moved to general chit-chat.

First, I have a life, and based on your comments, a much better one than you have. Second, you wouldn't know a wanna be if it sat on your face. Third, this forum is open to all members in good standing. There is no assumption of privacy here, and therefore your business on UHH is my business if I chose to make it so. If you don't like that, you can continue to make additional illiterate and asinine comments, or chose not to post at all, which would probably make us all much happier.

This is primarily a photography website. Of your 429 posts, more than 350 of them have been on general chit-chat and include the political and social rants of a sad angry, little man. You could be 6'6" tall and you'd still be a little man. Of your other posts, they are mostly comments in the photo gallery, the main substance of those comments is "nice job" or "good photo". Even some of your photo gallery comments are politically charged rants. I wonder why you waste your time on a photo site when you are very clearly not a photographer. Aren't there are any White Supremacist, anti government sites that would fit your personality better?

Just did, and glanced at the 429 posts, Whew! I am a politicly conservative smaller government type, But Man, The "Tin Foil Hat" brigade is why I don't bother with political blogs/sites (of any faction). I'll stick to my hobbies, (Old cars,Old guns and Old cameras!) and leave the off the wall rants to AM talk radio! As a Pentaxian, I rather listen in on an old Canon/Nikon fight! PS I like Win10 and also use Apple and Google devices! -

Even though they're all OUT TO GET ME!!!

Although I'm not a social conservative, politically and economically I am somewhat right of center, but this guy just sounds like he's angry at the corporations, the government, various "groups" of people, and maybe the world in general. He probably feels like he's not in control of his life and is looking for someone, other than himself, to blame it on.

I feel ya, my politics are not my religion, Do corporations sometimes do bad things... Yes!, Does the government sometimes do bad things...Yes! Any large group can. But lumping together "groups" one disagrees with as ALL EVIL is insane. I drive a Buick Lucerne and a Dodge Ram. Am I then supposed to assume Ford drivers are wrong (or worse, evil)? Perhaps he needs therapy? I don't know, The world is too big and too complicated to assume that one individual has all the "answers", those who do are both scared AND scary.

I bought a new laptop with Win10 2 months ago and bought my own one-time use Office product because I do not want to subscribe to the on-line app version. 6 weeks later, my Office suite stopped working and said I wasn't register, yet refused to let me re-register since my registration key had already been used the one time already. Calling Microsoft, I had the same run around over my Microsoft email account. The tech said with Win10 I needed to have a Microsoft email account or they couldn't help me fix the problem.

Yes, everything now is a Win10 problem because they are using Win10 as the excuse to direct all tech support through their system. And, as a tool to sell subscription apps. (I was told I had to buy a subscription Office Suite since all their products were web-based now and I was mistaken that there was a one-time registered program any longer...that wasn't true but I had to demand to be transferred to sales in order to get the true story. The tech who told me HE was in charge of troubleshooting and I needed the subscription was trying to slip one past me.)
