yes full frame is a big upgrade, from the crop cameras, better deal
vs the 5d 111,same picture quality as the 5d without some extras,
i never look at focus points,98% on the time i use single spot focus

Likewise and I have heard many other folks say the same thing. :)
I have both and love both.
The 7DII, as you already know, is a feature rich camera. The AF system is awesome, speed is almost too much (you can fill a card in no time) and the ISO performance isn't bad for a crop sensor camera.
(yes...I know you can tune down the burst rate)
The 6D is pretty bare bones by today standards however......reviewers give it very slightly better ISO performance than the 5DIII and better low light focusing ability when using the center point.
I find the high ISO noise to be significantly better than the 7Dii. Also there is, to me, a different sort of look to the images. Images from the 6D look somehow richer and smoother. Not a very scientific statement I know but I stand by it.
So.......in my humble opinion if you can afford the combo you are looking to buy for the sake of a little better IQ....and understand the limitations of the 6D vs the 7Dii......go for it.
Taff

Congratulations! You were able to figure out the WIFI connections. I gave up.

A camera store fairly local to me has a used Canon 6D body on sale for £850 boxed, mint condition and only a 490 shutter count. I have enough from a tax rebate to add the F4 24-70mm L zoom to it.
I have the 7D mk2 and would like a full frame for landscape/low light photography. So go for it?
Thanks for any help.
I have a 6D and love it. In fact, I want to get the 7D MKII as well. What I would suggest to you is to get the 24-70 f2.8, but if you are going to get the f4, you might as well get the 24-124 f.4.

Good for you! I wanted to go full frame for a long while and decided that a 6D was what I wanted. I watched the prices for a year and saw the price on a 6D drop all last year. Then at Christmastime it really dropped and I must have whined around enough as my wife got me the 6D with 24-104mm lens and grip for Christmas.
Good luck on your purchase and now it's time to enjoy it, I know I do mine.

My wife has a 6d and 7d. I have two mark III's. Her fotos rival mine. Am I jealous? Of course not! We are two different photographers period.

Sounds good taffthetooth. The 24-70 f4 L lens is great. I have one. Very sharp and well made.

We have two things in common. We are both in New Mexico and we both have the 7DII / 6D combo. (I just pulled the trigger on a refurbished 6D fro Canon refub store tonight). Can't wait to try it out!
