I got in touch with Canon this morning and they said the t3 camera did not work with DPP 4. They told me that I needed to reformat my camera card. Trying to figure out how to do that.

Reformatting your camera card can be done in the camera menus.

As for DPP 4 I think that Canon doesn't know what it is talking about according to the company's own website and published information. I don't have a T3 (1100D) to test but DPP 4.3.31.0 claims support for the T3 (1100D) now.

Initially DPP4 didn't support the T3i, now it does. It does not yet support the T2i but I am confident that it will. If Canon can design a website as appallingly bad as the new Canon USA website, then they don't deserve to have any credibility! It's almost enough to make me downgrade to a <insert competitor of choice>!

The current list is here: http://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_slr/eos_11...

Here's a screen grab for MAC OS/X and DPP4 that clearly states support for the 1100D which is the T3 in the US. If I could even get to one on the Canon USA website I would get a screen shot of that also. Can you tell that I think they are idiots?

If you call them back, then tell them that one of their long term customers said they are incompetent and do not serve to work for a prestigious Japanese company! Or ask if they are being paid by Nikon, Sony or another competitor 'cos they are doing a good job for them!

Absolutely agree on the Canon USA site. Do you know a way to add a (small) watermark using DPP 4?

Thanks for any info.

Sorry, no, I do not. I would personally use other tools for that. You could try asking Mr. Google something like "watermark with DPP4", but I think the answer is mostly no...

Thanks for the reply. I know how to do it in PSE, but recently, since my older version isn't compatible with the required ACR for my camera, I've been having to use the Adobe CR2 to DNG converter, and it's easier to skip that step and use DPP for the limited editing I've been doing.

Sigh! Software and agile development! So confusing for us cats!

I personally use DPP for the initial workflow stage, and I find it extremely good, but after that other tools seem good to me....

Don't personally see a one size fits all is an adequate approach here...

I got the DPP 4.3 but can't find a manual. When I look on google it comes up with a page that says read/download. But it doesn't do anything when I hit download. I am trying to get the manual for a mac. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can get a manual for the DPP 4.3?

Canon DPP4 typically supports newer cameras, I expect the website hasn't caught up with support for the 1100D (T3) yet. I searched for the 5DS, which is only supported with DPP4.x

Try this: http://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_slr/eos_5ds.aspx?type=manuals&manualid=tcm:14-1183699

Let us know if it works for you, maybe your T3 will magically turn into at 5Ds!

I successfully downloaded the 4.3 and the instruction manual. Have not tried it yet. Thanks for your help.
