Let s see the entire world agrees in climate change except the flat earthers! But I guess when the ocean rises and it is - I see it here in south Florida - the excess will just fall off the end!

Back in the late 70's we were in Snowmass, CO skiing. One morning at 6AM the local radio station announced it was -50 degrees in a small community in another part of the county.
Later at Noon, when we stopped for lunch, the radio station gave the temperature in the small community as 50 degrees - a swing of 100 degrees in less than 6 hours. Global warming wasn't an issue back then.

The world being flat wasn't an issue in the 14th century!

Never confuse whether with climate

I just had a chill run right down my spine. I really don't want to go there to find that low temperature.

I once skied at -50F (on the thermometer). I was covered in down clothing on all areas but the tip of my nose. Had frostbite in just a few minutes. Never went skiing in that low a temp again. (My ski mountain was just across from Mt. Washington in NH.)

I would almost think that light would freeze as it hit your eyeballs. 8-) 8-) 8-)

I mis-typed, it was only -70! (Heat wave!)

And it was Rogers Pass, between Great Falls and Missoula, MT. Lolo Pass is on the Montana/Idaho state line between Missoula, MT and Coeur de Alene, ID.
Thing is, once it hits about -20, anything colder doesn't seem much different! ;-)

Ah, what's 1 degree among friends.....

I have my windows and front door open this morning enjoying the beautiful sunshine today.

You are right. From -20f. to -35f. it's hard to tell the difference. I was stationed in Alaska in the 60's. One night, -63f. Anything below -35f is deadly dangerous. We had one stretch of two weeks where it stayed -35f to -55f all day and night. Tires freeze with flat spots on the bottom. Makes for a bumpy ride until they round out. Vehicle exhaust just hangs on the road.

How about oil dip stick heater, head bolt heater, water circulating heater, the big lamp under the car, blanket over the hood and it still will not start!

I don't know. When I lived in central Vermont in the mid-70s, I worked in the woods a couple of winters. I always thought -20 (deg F) was the most comfortable working temperature. Problem was, diesel fuel gels at that temperature. We used to cut it half-and-half with kerosene.

One morning it was -40. I worked at a school about two miles from my home, and decided to walk that day (car wouldn't start, anyway).

At -40, the snow squeaked and even screamed every time I stepped on it. I had to move slowly and avoid taking deep breaths. But all in all, it was a pleasant experience. The sky was clear and the sun was bright, and it was very quiet.

It was definitely different from -20, though.

In that case there is nowhere important enough to leave the house! ;-)

There is something beautiful and calming about the cold.
