For an initial try at zoom blur you made a wonderful image. Keep it up! Merry Christmas!

I love it, nice idea and nice picture. A neighbor always does a similar red tree for Christmas but I never thought of it as an apple. Could I ask in what town this tree is located? I see your info says you're in NW Illinois. I was born in Freeport.

Well, how cool is that??? I live in Freeport, IL!! This tree is located on Stephenson Street, across from the old YWCA, currently Fitness Lifestyles. I don't know how many years they've been decorating their tree like this, but I remember taking our kids to see it when they were little, and our daughter will turn 30 next month. Thanks for looking in! :) Merry Christmas to you!!

For many years (over 30), these people always decorate their tree to look like an apple. It's pretty cool and you can see the red glow as you drive down the street. It has become a tradition in our town to "go see the Apple" at Christmastime. So, here are two pics of that tree. The second one was my first attempt at zoom blur. I didn't get my tripod out, which I needed, but I was just playing to see if I could do it. haha... Love the things I'm learning about on this site. :)

Thanks! I know where Stephenson St. is, I had to Google the exact location of Fitness Lifestyles. I grew up on Rt 75 just outside of town and of course that turns into Stephenson Street. My Dad grew up on Center Street across from the school. Oops, I'm getting off topic and I'm new here, I don't want to get in trouble with the moderators. Merry Christmas and thanks for the reply. Bob

That's really neat, Bob. I'm glad our paths crossed here on this site. Sure is a small world, sometimes!
By they way, I see you're new here, so welcome! This is a great site. I've only been a member since last fall, but have learned so much. Folks are so nice and very helpful (most of them are, though some can be a little curt). Enjoy learning!
