This is a excellent soft cover book that will be of benefit to both the "Pro" and the "Amateur" photographer. On the cover it states"How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera". Well the book is jamed full of photgraph examples and he expalins his objective in the pictures plus he lists for each picture the Exposure Setting, the F-Stop, the ISO, and the lens used. In many examples he takes mutliple photographs of a subject with several different Exposure Settings and lists the ISO, F-Stops, and lens used. The book is great, one subject he takes 7 pictures all wiht differnt exposures and explains his objective with each. It is extremely well written. And itis separated into these categories: Defining Exposure, Aperature, Shutter Speed, Light 100 the Importance of Light, Filters, Special Techniques & Flash.

He also has brief video clips of his techniques on Adorama's website. Very informative.

Wonderful books. Someone else also mentioned David Busch's books that go deeper than the manufacturers manuals.

Notonly does he cover many Nikon and Cannon models, but he also has a great book on the Sony Alpha's which I have referred to quite often.

I've expressed my gratitude to the folks at UGG many times before for insisting that one should purchase AND read this invaluable book. It has demystified a lot of the terminology that I found difficult to grasp and Bryan not only explains but gives examples to the techniques he outlines. Thank you all at UGG and Mr Peterson!

Made the mistake of ordering the new edition of the book for my kindle very handy but all the picture examples are in B/W duh!! Very easy to read and understand.

I have a NookColor, but several of my friends have Kindle Fires. You really need to get one. Not only will your book be in color, but you can fit it plus 100's of other books and manuals, all in your camera bag. It is a very well done product. If I didn't already have a NookColor I would have a Kindle Fire already.

Also, if in WiFi range you could watch the videos he has online. 100's of uses that only takes up the space of a small book, for only $200.

You can also take his course online under the same title as his book, and Learning to See or "the Art of Seeing". You will be given an assignment for the week, submit photos and receive critiques. I am presently in the middle of week 4 and have learned a lot. (Art of Seeing) Bryan also includes some short videos giving fun tips for photos.

My copy came a few days ago. I thought it was for my wife because I thought I understood all about exposure.

Boy was I wrong. I started into it and was hooked. I finished it in two days. I love it. I may let her read it but I'll be keeping it and reading it again and again.

It is beautiful in paperback: many colorful images that illustrate his points fully. It contains many creative projects that will keep me busy for years.

It reflects his conversion to digital photography. I suggest NOT getting an earlier edition as this one was clearly updated for the digital world as it is emerging.

He also offers a free website with videos: www.ppsop.com/understandingexposure. I'm headed there next!

I've read it several times just for fun...it's a GREAT BOOK and should be required reading for ALL newbies.

I've got his "learning to see creatively" also.

He's got a fun style of explaining things that I really like.

I love his youtube Adorama videos...he's a very down-to-earth kind of guy (it seems)

Ah, I see he has a bit of security on the site to check you have the book before letting you in. He asks three questions you need the book to answer. I don't know yet if they change each time.

The little video blurbs are OK. He needs to update them with HD videos and use a method so you can view full screen. But they do have useful summary information.

I just ordered my copy from Amazon ($17.99-ish) along with a few other items (an adapter so I can use my old Canon lenses on my Sony, a remote control, and a hood for my 18-55 lens. That just about wipes out a charter trip I'm driving this weekend. If the Bryan Peterson book is as good as the David Busch book I bought for my camera, I should have it read in a few days.
