This is a excellent soft cover book that will be of benefit to both the "Pro" and the "Amateur" photographer. On the cover it states"How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera". Well the book is jamed full of photgraph examples and he expalins his objective in the pictures plus he lists for each picture the Exposure Setting, the F-Stop, the ISO, and the lens used. In many examples he takes mutliple photographs of a subject with several different Exposure Settings and lists the ISO, F-Stops, and lens used. The book is great, one subject he takes 7 pictures all wiht differnt exposures and explains his objective with each. It is extremely well written. And itis separated into these categories: Defining Exposure, Aperature, Shutter Speed, Light 100 the Importance of Light, Filters, Special Techniques & Flash.

if you like that one see his "learning to see creatively" has opened up a world of subject matter to me. I reread both books every 6 months to keep it fresh. he is a great writer as well with the ability to explain complex subjects,in plain easy to understand english instead of techno speak

Absolutely, I am not familiar with the other book you mention here but this book is so well written and so easy to follow and understand. "Light" is the whole center of photography, and I know I am preaching to the choir in this regard. But also ther is no such thing as "perfect exposure". It is all a matter of personal preference and only the photographer (Captain of eh ship) who did the image capture process holds teh rights to whether it is a good "exposure" or not. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and that is the bottom line. I know you understand this, photography is an extremely subjective personal thing. Thanks for your comment, I will look for that book.

Hi again thanks, also let me suggest to you DAvid D. Busch, you probaly already are aware of him I would guess but if not, his books are also great. I just purchased his book titled "Nikon D80-Digital Field Guide" its great. You don't need Nikon's owners manual if you have this book its just that good. He has also written several other books about both Nikon's and Canon's cameras.

Bryan Peterson has only written 7 books. I have aread 6 of them and they are constant reference source. His website has some great videos of him demonstrating how to setup and take various pictures.

He also has brief video clips of his techniques on Adorama's website. Very informative.

This Book opened my eyes and let me understand how a camera really works. Put me in charge of the photos and not the camera. I recommend this book all the time, best money I've spent in the hobby.
