This is my last picture
Geoff, so sorry about camera, etc,but so glad you are OK! How in the world did you get out of the quicksand? Must have been very freighting.
My command to anyone hiking with me is "save the camera!" I'd rather my camera come out unscathed than me. I heal faster. Hope you're well after your scary experience. And, yes, please get another camera!
Oh, so sorry to hear about your fall Geoff and the damage done to your gear. Hopefully you will get it replaced pretty soon.
I liked your picture by the way.
As for Bakery! Surely having had a soggy bottom you should realise that that is not going to be your forte.
DO NOT GIVE UP PHOTOGRAPHY. You are one of those we compare our work to. We strive to be as good as you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks one and all, I apprecate all your positive feedback ---Today I was at Trebarwith Strand on the north coast of Cornwall, the natural atlantic light was alive, the sea was wild, the slate cliffs were a shouting with splendour and all I could do was soak it up and kick myself for not bringing a spare camera body on this trip, --so I spent a couple of hours deciding how I will capture it when I next get down here with a camera.
I like it. I hope its not your last ever
Sorry to hear that Geoff - you really nailed that last shot - hope you get sorted soon.

I would like a chocolate cake, but please remember to take a picture of it.😅
I think you ought to sell this shot for the £3500 - it's that good!

I hate it when that happens! Great last shot!
Hang in there. It is always fun to get new things.
"Been there - done that", but not in quicksand fortunately and not in Cornwall, and my D600 didn't suffer too much damage, only my pride and my bones :-(
I know exactly what must be going through your mind!!! Glad you're OK.
Oh Geoff! I'm so sorry to hear of your accident and loss of gear. I have horrors of that same thing happening to me one of these days. I hope all works out for you and you come out way ahead when all is said and done. This is a stunning seascape, by the way..just stunning!

I am sorry to hear about your mishap and the loss of your equipment, but most important, I am glad that you are well.
As for you stuff, I feel your pain - as you may recall, my D7100 was damaged by rain earlier this summer.
Now you have the perfect justification for GAS!
What a sad post to read, but so glad that you are in one piece and not in a hospital bed somewhere. We all know that the gear can be replaced, but it is still a nuisance to have to deal with. I hear that needlepoint doesn't have to difficult a learning curve - not sure though as I've never tried it. As good as you are in the photos skills, I think you'd best stick with that!
