Im in Cornwall for a couple of weeks getting some shots across the moors and along the stunning coastline and some of the best light in the Britain to work with. On Wednesday I was at Widecombe Bay and the surf was amazing, so setting out across the sands with the tide approaching I took a few shots into and against the sun, I was moving towards a large rocky area where the white water was crashing in offering some amazing shots------Next thing I knew I was face down in about a foot of water with £3500 worth of photo equipment underneath me, I had stumbled in some quicksand and went A over T.
I understand from Canon that the camera & lens is almost certainly kaputt, but I did dry out the card and this is the very last shot from the 5D3--- I never did get the shots of the crashing waves.

There are other cameras in the world. There's only one Geoff. And his latest photograph reminds us why there is only Geoff.

Thanks one and all, no real damage done to me, just a few rock cuts a bruises, and hopefully the insurance will cough up, -- but in the meantime its back to the 500D, and maybe its a good time to get the old A1 and a roll of film out mothballs? --- If not I've decided to give up photography and have a go a embroidery and cake baking, so if anyone got any ideas??????????????

Thanks again,

Geoff

It's those damned evil spirits again!!! Somebody (no names, but I know who it was) let them loose for Halloween, and this is the result!!!

Glad you're okay, and sorry about the equipment. I do know a good exorcist, should you need one...
