Don't Let the Critters Take Their Own Selfies...

I think there is something more sinister going on here. If PETA can convince a court that a monkey can indeed own the copyright of a photograph, then that monkey would have one of the same rights as a human being. PETA will have a legal precedence for any future court cases that will argue equal rights for animals.
It's a vague recollection of an article or news-clip I saw recently, but dogs are either expected or have been granted full citizenship, and it is also being considered for other animals believed to be self aware. Sorry, I can't provide a reference for the story, but I really think it's about time. They can't speak for themselves but they can certainly THINK for themselves.
They, just like humans, don't all fit into one category, so when it comes to the smarts department, some will understand the advantages and others will run the other way.
In true "Liberal think", the PETA folks are upset over the so called rights of a monkey, when the same liberal PETA folks don't care if a human being is killed via abortion.
Egads, now you're getting religion into what the nut cases are doing.

I never thought killing a baby was religion, I thought It was a human nature topic, but you are probably right.
Religion is the basis of the anti abortion movement-I will be back to later comment on this.
PETA thinks any publicity is good even if it is ridiculous? I would think this action would scare people away from supporting PETA.
