I'd say you cut that learning curve short with that new lens Larry. What a fantastic set! Loved them all (especially the dragons).

Excellent set Larry, I love #1. :D

Thank you Sylvia. The first three were taken at a place you are familiar with - my favorite rookery.

Are you planning a return to the colonies any time soon?

Cheers.

I am definitely not accustomed to using a lens as big as my new Tamron 150-600, but it is getting easier with more practice.

Here are some more recent shots. Critiques are welcomed.

BTW, I received my rebate check today.

I really really love the first image. Great lens!!!

Hi, nice pictures. I've been looking at the 150-600. On the first pic could you tell me what camera you used, how close where you, and is the picture cropped. Thanks Bob

Bob, here is the information that you requested.

The first three photos posted where shot with my old D80 as my D7100 and I suffered rain damage recently. The remaining photos in this post where taken just before the skies opened up.

Specifically, image number one:
ISO 400, 1/2000 sec., f5, 160mm, no cropping, hand held.
I would estimate the distance to be 35 feet.

Reminder, there is a $70.00 rebate from Tamron through the end of this month.

My only gripe: the lens does not fit into any of my camera bags and it does not come with a case of its own.

Thank you for looking in and commenting.

Wood Storks are big birds, 3 feet tall! The spoonbill isn't as big, but much prettier.

I've enjoyed seeing your flower photos also, and your set from Anclote River Park. That is a great place for photography.
