I don't think so. I am a retired licensed lawyer and argued cases before all levels of Courts in this Great Country of ours, except for the Supreme Court, for 35 years. In addition, I am very qualified in the area of Constitutional law, having won the American Jurisprudence Award in Constitutional law.

You seem somewhat under-educated in the area of law in general, and constitutional law in particular. Your shouting with ALL CAPS demonstrates that emotion has over taken your reasoning ability. Exchanges with you are a waste of my time and a waste of this forums bandwidth. Again- become educated about the law. Perhaps then, and only then, you will be able to make sound and reasoned comments. Maybe even without shouting.

Dug, I don't know what everyone says about a mule, or whether it is true.

I do know they're smart, hard working animals, often subject to abuse when they have ideas of their own.

I still haven't seen anyone show me the basis for the assertion that anyone is suggesting removal or changes to any memorial to fallen soldiers.

Do you happen to have one, which you would like to share? Or would you rather just make silly statements based on someone's assumptions and/or mis-information? I like to rely upon facts when I make assertions.

The choice is yours.

Have you not been following the horse crap stuff that is going on about the Confederate Flag, the Gay situation (suing bakers for not making a Gay wedding cake, etc...)

His comment was neither small minded or uncalled for.... IT IS happening and the Possibility of the Pyramid being a victim of PC is not spitting in the wind..

Thanks for your comment and respect for my point of view. The very reason we have the problems we have today in my opinion, comes from having, for lack of a better term, "small minded people" who wear their 'blinders' so they don't have to see what's really going on and why.

This Country has been "rocked to sleep" for so long, little by little, that it's shameful.

Thanks, Mike. Let's look at them individually.

#1 I think you missed the point of that one. The name of the park is after a founder of the KKK. That is quite a bit different. Also, we were talking about memorials for fallen soldiers who gave their all. Not State Parks. Ridding our nation of any adulation for someone who founded the KKK is probably a good thing. The author was also poking fun at the comparison with ISIS by the southern legislator.

#2 It's the confederate flag, Mike. A state sponsored display of a symbol co-opted by the KKK to stand for racism, Racial hatred and unspeakable violence and torture done to our American Citizens.

#3 and#4 Neither of these is a memorial to fallen soldiers, is it? It refers to statues glorifying the KKK founders.

#5 Is another instance of a KKK founder or big wig, not a memorial to fallen American (even though they were not Americans having ceded from America) soldiers.

So, Mike, You got me on the Fox News comment; but, why don't you check out the Fox News reporting and commentary on the Confederate Flag while you're at it.

None of your cites have anything to do with war memorials to fallen Confederate soldiers, who, no matter how misguided, fought and gave their lives for a rebellion against the United states. Some might call them traitors, or dupes of traitors. They have as much right to be memorialized for giving their lives in combat, however, misguided. And the South's history cannot be denied, overlooked or minimized. I just wish it didn't still control the Southern citizenry's consciousness after all these years. It only causes divisiveness and hatred and racial problems.

Mike, I would appreciate it if you checked your sources more carefully before posting in an argument. I just wasted too much of what little time I have left on the planet correcting you.

Our country needs more critical thinking for the future than what you have just displayed.

Rick

The pyramid was completed in 1869 and was built as a memorial to the more than 18,000 confederate soldiers who died in batte.

The memorial was commissioned by the Hollywood Memorial Association that was formed May 3, 1866 by the Daughters of the Confederacy for $26,000.00 an amount that would equal $423,760.00 in 2008. The pyramid was built in an area of the cemetery where graves contains the remains of enlisted men of the Confederate Army who died at Gettysburg. 18,000 men including at least 2,000 unknown soldiers were removed from the Gettysburg's battlefield and buried at Hollywood cemetery. This is commemorated by the construction of the pyramid to honor the sacrifices of these Confederate soldiers. The Hollywood Cemetery Registry of Confederate Dead, printed in 1869, contains about 10,500 names of the 18,000 soldiers that rest here.

The way too smug legends-in-their-own-minds call it politically correctness but I call it what it is; intellectual cowardice. It's really just a "doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
