i see all this really aweosme close up pictures of these flowers. you can see every little detail about the insides of those things. i tried to do it and failed miserably  i was in Av mode on my camera not crazy zoomed in. i was pretty much laying on the ground in front on this flower but it kept comming out blurry!!! is it that the flower is was trying ton shoot it too small. i tired big and small apeture. i really want to get good at my macro shots but this just didnt work out!
Just guessing, but I'd say you camera or lens can't focus that close. Is this a P&S or a DSLR camera, and what lens are you using? It appears you are too close to the flower.
Mike
It looks like you were closer than minimum working distance of the lens. What lens are you using?

ditto the other guys and also you are trying to shoot in strong contrasty light - which can be done - once you know what you are doing - but for starting out i would not recommend it....try softer light - overcast or cloudy days....to start
You were too close and possibly in the right camera mode.

Some Macro lenses should never be zoomed. Example is this phot I took with a Carl Zeiss lens. I also removed autofocus and used a manual setting on the camera. AV has the temptation to set your shutter speed and ISO. Just a suggestion.

Gallery3Ten, Please DO NOT post your own picture in someone else's thread. I know you are a new comer but still...
It would be great if you followed the forum guideline as we could see the original, know what camera you used and at what settings.
Right now, this is just a bunch of out focus flowers w/o meaning, can't even make a guess.
Please post the originals.
its ok u can post ur other pics i dnt care! id like to other shots of other peoples things that im trying to do as well. was is up with the whole not posting you pics on someone elses threads its kinda dumb!! post all the pics u want on my thread as long as its about the same content
those r the orginals i have a canon sx40 hs and i ctn chnage the lens so i guess maybe my camera just isnt ment for pictures that close i was in Av mode and i tired both smaller and larger apetures cuz i thought apeture mode is what deals with pictures like these. i even have a macro setting on my camera but still came out the same
like when i went to take the pic the little suare box on my view finder kept blinking with a yellow explanation point but i guessed that was just telling me that the image inside the brackette was outa focus but not telling me what to do to chnage it
Post the 'originals' means click on the check box that is on the right of the browse button.
Originals posted that way are full size (hopefully) and give all technical information needed about your camera system and shot settings. Other than that, a thumbnail is worthless.
This is also mentioned in the TOU of this forum.
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-19061-1.htmlIf you post post processed images or down sized it will also be seen this way.
You want an accurate response to your questions regarding a photo vs a subject? use the guidelines. Otherwise select the photo gallery for help.
Also, if this forum rules are dumb, please go away once and for all.

This is not a teenage texting site. Would you please at least attempt to use proper spelling and punctuation. Your posts are extremely difficult to read and look very childish like that.
