I'm sorry, I don't follow the logic or reasoning behind "DO NOT POST YOUR OWN PICTURE in 'someone else's thread.' " Isn't a forum supposed to be helpful instead of restrictive? I don't think it's against the guidelines. What is a thread for? If you post, it certainly isn't proprietary in a public forum!
You're a little late to the party. Read the forum's rules (first message in each section). Posting in someone else's thread is considering hi-jacking the thread, UNLESS the original poster (OP) has invited others to join in, or grants permission if someone asks to post their own pictures or to modify the OP's image to show how something can be done. It can be a bit annoying to post a message asking if it's okay to post an image, especially if the OP doesn't get back into the thread for a day or so. But the idea is to keep the thread limited to its original intent. There are some outstanding - more like outrageous - examples of threads going off the edge of a cliff, while the OP's original question gets utterly lost. Hope this clarifies things for you.
