Poor Rix... airing the fact that he has learning disabilities all over these threads... After all, "don't did" is a perfect illustration of those deficiencies he has...

There's a very good read about where things actually started to go downhill and it starts with the Japanese surrender to MacArthur...

This covers some of it but there is so much more. Our own government basically sold out the TV manufacturing industry to Japan at the Congressional level and at the same time that Japan was implementing statistical process control we here in the US were still chugging along with producing in volume to make up for sliding quality. The politics of Unions vs Management sure didn't help things either. And then of course you had the larger industries that just plain failed to re-invest and let their factories crumble. It's always going to be cheaper and less hassle to start new somewhere else than fix it where you are. Or at least that was the mindset. I mean look at marriage these days. That's the same attitude on a different front.

But you should probably ask one of the atheists up here because they have determined that they are so much smarter than the rest of us.

and here I thought welfare and food stamp people were just shiftless bums, sitting around all day, doing drugs, eating steak and shrimp, making babies to get paid more - you know, just sponging off of all us productive people!

These facts are going to confuse right wingers.

Unfortunately for the ones I personally know. This is an accurate assessment. :(

No problem! W. Edwards Demming is only part of the story but it's an interesting one. Here in this country, we have the Malcolm Baldrige Award for quality. It's named after Ronald Reagan's Sec'y of Commerce. Japan has theirs named for Demming, an American.

Most welfare recipients actually have TWO jobs. Drug dealing and prostitution.

American made Fender Guitars are generally favoured over Mexican or Japanese made Fenders. So I guess that is one example?

I don't know about that. I have a Yamaha LL6 acoustic. This is Yamaha's line of hand built guitars, made in a Japanese factory. Basically a D35 Martin, from the materials to the sound, without one single flaw. And yes I have owned a Martin, and had several friends that have.

I would not trade it for any Fender I have ever seen, and I have owned a Fender or two also. So in my case, I would choose the Japanese made Yamaha, over the U.S. made Fender. In a heartbeat. :)

Materials: Engleman Spruce, top ; Indian Rosewood, Sides & Back ; neck 3 piece, Mahogany & Rosewood sandwich ; Fret board & Bridge Ebony ; Tuners, Grover. Inlay: Headstock, Abalone ; Fret Markers, Abalone ; Sound hole, Abalone ; Saddle & Head Nut, Tusk. All binding Celluloid 100% body, neck, and headstock.

Our Government seems not to care about our local economy, they want that New World Order. To achieve that, our economy has to be thrown to the dogs.

Yamaha also has some of their guitars U.S. built. My son bought one of the L series Acoustic electrics (made by Fender), but it cant touch the sound of the LL6. Also cost almost double the price. He came out to play with me just after he bought it, he now no longer owns it.

Takamine does build some nice guitars, I know some people who own Jasmines, which is a lower priced Takamine. They are also nice, but can't hold up to the sound of their big brothers. But for entry level, I have seen much worse.

I don't patronize any of those businesses.... One fact not mentioned is the skills involved in those jobs isn't as low skilled as many of the jobs being paraded about as needing to increase their wage scales. Plus they are relatively large companies, not small businesses, which are the types of businesses most likely to be negatively influenced by wage increases. .... Besides, loyalty & productivity gains cannot be attributed to wages alone. There are other factors in play here....
