<snip>....Now whats happened is my entire aperture library seems to have disappeared, so how do I get them back? Can I reverse what I did in iphoto some how?

It seems by your urgency that you did not have a backup of the library. So you got luck, but now is your chance to put a backup system in place so if it happens for real, you will have a decisive course of action you can take.

Hard drives can fail. If your storing important information on a computer you really need to back it up. It's not hard nor very expensive. Of course if you don't care if you lose all your photos then don't bother.

Seems like saxkiwi does not wish to let everyone know how he solved his problem, but he wanted everyone to help him solve it in the first place.

Ive been too busy to go online.. The problem lies in doing something silly like trying to export from I-photo where I uploaded the photos I thought I couldn't upload anymore on aperture and then exporting them to aperture from iPhoto by using open library in i-photo in the file drop down. Doing this rendered a take over and showed only the iPhoto photos in aperture and hiding all my aperture library. The fix was going to file in aperture - switch to library, basically just switching it back to how it was. I managed to talk to an apple guy on the phone with no charges so I don't know why some charge and some don't.

Greg, thanks for the update. It always seems like the quickest or easiest fixes cause the most grief.
