Coming back from an Easter Egg Hunt shoot involving my G.daughters I saw this railroad trestle. I love these older wooden spans & try to photograph them when time permits. I found a gravel road going down to the overflow area. Turns out this particular bridge spans one of the larger tributaries to the Elm Fork of the Trinity river. The water was full of fish, turtles and probably snakes. The banks were covered with critter tracks. I I.D.'ed Possum, Raccoon & what I'm pretty sure were Bobcat. All this within spitting distance of major tract housing developments......

Fine shots!!
Thanks.... After trying w/ marginal success to get good Easter egg hunt photos of the grandkids all morning (they were always running away to the next egg or bending over to grab one) being able to get these shots was really a nice little bonus....

Love them!!!! It is strange how things like this are there right next to the new world.
Also in Dallas. Can you give me a location?
Let's just hope the Irving earthquakes don't knock your railroad trestle down, a.j.!! Interesting photos. Maybe we should get together with picturesofdogs and have some coffee and talk photography. PM me.

Thanks! We all get so focused on 'what's next on today's list' that we often miss what's right in front of us.

Thanks, Penny.... You know how hard it can be to slow down and actually really look at the world around you.... We all have "so many promises to keep and miles to go before we sleep".... (apologies to R.Frost - used out of context to say the least..) I have to make a conscious effort to do this & I'm always pleasantly surprised at the things I see when I do......
