Coming back from an Easter Egg Hunt shoot involving my G.daughters I saw this railroad trestle. I love these older wooden spans & try to photograph them when time permits. I found a gravel road going down to the overflow area. Turns out this particular bridge spans one of the larger tributaries to the Elm Fork of the Trinity river. The water was full of fish, turtles and probably snakes. The banks were covered with critter tracks. I I.D.'ed Possum, Raccoon & what I'm pretty sure were Bobcat. All this within spitting distance of major tract housing developments......

So those track are no longer being used by trains? I would hope not.

Hopefully this span is a lot more sturdy than my shot makes it appear. I'm pretty sure it gets daily freight traffic!
