it is a great progarm, but i don't think they know what they are doing. they told me it wouldn't work with intel yet i have been using it since version 8 or before. had a problem and they quickly offered to refund. but then the program started working. i don'thjink they know what they are doing....r..like it and don't want to loose it but frustrating at times....no good answer sorry. each email to them something different.

I've used this tool for the last 2-3 versions, so I'm familiar with it, and have not had any major issues. I purchased version 9.0 update and could never get a good install on my Dell notebook (Win 8.1). The install on my Win 7 desktop installed okay, but most of the time, before I'm finished editing the image, it will crash.

Just so you know, I work in an IT department, in systems development, so I really don't think ignorance of PC use is the issue. I like the tool, but I've had enough problems with version 9.0 that they refunded my purchase price. I got the impression that they simply don't know how to fix it for PCs.

Their development is primarily on the Apple platform, and I truly believe they are simply having problems with their Windows version.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Bruce, you'll find that even though they refunded your money, they stillc consider you a customer - and will allow you to keep the version, fully authorized. You can even update/upgrade it. This happened to me with v8 - and the refunded $$ and I used the v8 license to get my v9 at the upgrade pricing - no questions asked.

Yes, I am finding this to be the case and it makes me wish they had kept the money. :-) I know that sometimes it takes a few releases to get a stable version. I'm currently on 9.0.2.

They are good people and it's a fine product when it works.

Thanks, Gene.

Sailor, I believe what they are referring to is the fact that it won't work with an Intel graphics card using OpenGL. Intel does not natively support OpenGL. This is somewhat an issue for me on my Dell notebook, but it has a secondary graphics card that does support OpenGL. Only thing is, the Catalyst Control Center has to be properly installed and configured to make it work properly.

This link will explain OpenGL.

i tried the free 30day version and had nothing but problems. It really messed up my photoshop software and it took the help of adobe service over and hour to correct the problems.
Having said this I will stick with my Nik suite.

not a techie, but get frustrated when i get constant crashes of loose the transfer back to lightroom. a hit miss situation at best.....love the program when it works......could be a contender if they get their act together.

If you are trying to run this with less than 16 gb ram, good luck. I run 32 and don't experience any issues now with the current version, but I did have issues with v9.

I am using the 9.02 version on a Windows 7 PC with no problems whatsoever. And I do have 16GB of RAM. I use it mainly for the layers and masking ability.

My friend had the same issue. We downloaded the version from the web site and re-installed, he had to upgrade the video card before it will work.

As an experienced IT guy you should know that new releases usually suck out of that gate and it's not until some number of fixes, it gets resolved. Some products have better beta tests than others. Since it seems to have problems on both, I'd guess it is product, not the platform.

I got a new laptop and I was going to install Lightroom and On 1. I have Windows 8.1 for an operating system (which I hate). My laptop is only 32 bit and that where the problems come from. On 1 is a 64 bit program and Lightroom runs better when using a 64 bit system. In fact the next version of Lightroom will be 64 bit. I have not worked with Lightroom mobile so I am not sure how plugins work with it. But agaian On 1 is a 64bit program.

FWIW, I have win 8.1 64bit and LR has worked flawlessly. I have not used he mobile code. I found the 8.1 desktop different but as good if not better that 7 once you get acclimated.

Yes I'm running suite 9 on adell workstation. The only problem that I have incountered is that after I finished (in any modual) that the program returnes to layers and I enter save it does do the save my picture is back in Lightroom. I then enter the close botton and this is when the program crashes. On 1 (new name) telles me that no one ense is having this problem. I have the same problem on two computers both dell one desktop and one a workstation laptop. both run windows 7 pro. (to many problems with 8).

Sorry to hear about the dilemma. I have used OnOne software for years. Love the products. I have had my issues with them but they are extremely customer oriented. I can work with people like this. The difficulties have been far out wade by the products and customer service. I am presently using PhotoSuite 8 along with Photoshop CC and some Topaz products.

Good Shooting
