I got the 150-500, which they post for $1069. They'll also give a little "kit" for the same price...also on the WEB. They knocked that down about $20 on the phone.
They do not charge shipping or sales tax...for me, anyway. I suspect if you live in their state (New York?) you might have sales tax.
They also upgraded the free shipping.
I never buy extended warranties but the price they offered on this one was so good I did bite on that. $34 to extend the warranty to seven years. It is three to start. Given the reports of failures of the focusing motors I thought that'd be worth it. By seven years I'll likely have moved on to something else.

Ok, bit the bullet. It is on its way. Promised next week.
Adorama did a little better on the phone than their posted price...worth calling.
So it will be with me on the whale expedition in May. Yes!
I didn't bite on the CP they offered with it as I don't usually need one on the Telephoto and it seems like wouldn't want the light loss. Thoughts on that?
You got a discount from Adorama? I paid the standard price $1660 from B&H. Thanks for the note, next time I'll try the phone for a better price!!

Sounds like a very nice lens.
I have a 80-300 nikon VR lens left over from when i had my F5.
Using this lens on my D7000 or D200 this would be a 120-450 lens.
Any comments pro or con.
I still have to try it, but i saw this thread & i'm sure some of you would comment. V/R Bill
An 80-300mm Nikon with VR? Never heard of that lens? And its from the F5 era?
I have seen 80-200mm, and 80-400mm VR.
Did you mean 70-300mm VR?

Excuse me its a nikor 80-400 VR.
That would be a 120-600. Bill
As a direct result of reading posts here on UHH, i'm pleased to say that i have bought a pre-owned Sigma 150-500.. and it arrived this morning

The sigma 150-500 sounds like a fine lens.
I normally shoot a tamron 18-270 or a nikor 18-200.
I would purchase the sigma if i didn't find my 80-400 nikon in the back of my safe.
As stated when used on a digital it will be close to a 120-600.
Its not :( I don't have one, but I would really like to own one. I support myself working full time for 10$ an hour so $$$ is extremely tight but I get by. :-D Maybe someday
Here are a few shots I took of a couple of immature bald eagles today with mine. All at 500mm, F8, handheld, ISO 200. OS was on in all the shots, it really helps.
Now, I am waiting for someone else to tell me this is not a sharp lens on the long end. The shots were taken in landscape format and cropped approx. 60% to portrait format, and resized to under 10MP to post here, no other work was done to them.
Eagle A was grooming himself after eating a fish. Notice the downy breast feather stuck to the top of his beak.
Eagle A
Eagle B
Eagle A again
Eagle B Again
Very nice MT. As soon as I can figure out how to post I will show some of my 150 -500 Sigmas.
Wow,Im convinced. It's official..this lens is on my list.

Great pics. Looks pretty sharp at 500 mm to me.
Fabulous!
Can't wait...it is supposed to arrive on Thursday. Seems like it's stuck in New Jersey for the weekend. It has to come west several thousand miles....maybe it will stop raining by then!

MT- You need to sign on with Sigma as a sales rep.

No thanks. I am just trying to counteract the misinformation that keeps popping up is all.
(But if they offered me an 800mm F5.6 as a free loaner for a year I would have to accept it! LOL)
