Adorama and B&H have excellent prices and customer service. Adorama does not have a restocking fee on returns while B&H does.

I have bought a couple cameras from Costco and have been totally satisfied with the experience. Only let down was the Sony A5100 I returned because I had a hard time looking at the LCD screen. Exchanged it for the A6000. But the return was no hassle.

Also, while not an exclusive camera store, Best Buy has some good prices and they're good to deal with. No grey market there, either.

The only problem with buying a camera on sale from Costco is that here in Mexifornia they charge sales tax on the pre-sale price. I'd stick with B&H Photo.

I purchase a lot of camera gear at Amazon.com. If you know exactly what you want, they sometimes beat all the camera stores. Your camera (D5300) is going for $599 with an 18-55mm lens.

Amazon.com.......I bought a canon 2.8 70-200 L series mark I by mistake when I really wanted the mark II. They took it back no questions and sent the mark II. And of course it was cheapest price of all online searches I did.......

The "holy trinity" of online Camera stores, at least here at UHH, seem to be Adorama (http://www.adorama.com), B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) and Cameta (http://www.cameta.com).

I've not had any experience with Cameta, but I'm an Adorama VIP (Adorama and B&H have reps who frequent this forum, and are easily approachable) and have been 100% satisfied with my purchases from them.

Another candidate would be National Camera Exchange in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The have a web page and you can get 'deals' and 'tent sale' emails.

I have dealt with B & H, Cameta, & Adorama. Always good service, never any problems. Bought my D7100 refurbished from Cameta. Also KEH is good for used gear. Best of luck. 8-)

I have done a lot of business with Cameta and have had nothing but excellent results. Also if you join a website called EBates and use them to go to Cameta's website, you will get a rebate check in the mail for a percentage of your purchase. I did this when I bought my new D610 just before Labor Day, and received a check for 3% of my purchase about a month later.

I am surprised at so few references to KEH. I know they are noted for selling used and refurbished, but carry new as well.

I have had good results there, and find them responsive and price sensitive. Great service and support.

Have rarely seen any hint of problems from others on other forums. Their rating system on used is conservative to say the least.

I suspect the OP wants new, but I will always buy refurbished equipment (factory) or highly rated used.

I see no advantage in being the person who puts the first 1000 clicks on a camera, and taking the lumps on early depreciation considering the one to two year model life span before a new model knocks the value out of each new preceding model.

I never have problems, but even if I did insist on new, I surely would not drop KEH out of the top contenders, based on my experience and that posted by many others on other forums.

Granted the Holy Three are good for new, but for open minded consideration, consider KEH should be in the group.

Having bought from all three, I highly recommend them.

Consumer Reports rated B&H as the best online retailer. This rating was from customer satisfaction poling. This means B&H was rater higher than Amazon. These rating involved all electronic items. Consumer Reports also praised B&H's return policy.

I'd add Amazon.com and Samys.com

The latter online retailer sells cameras here in California. It also has brick-and-mortar stores for a helpful, live buying experience.
