I am ready to buy a Nikon D5300 and I need advice about online purchasing. Does anybody have a recommendation of stores that I can trust? Any experiences? Thanks in advance for your help.

The "holy trinity" of online Camera stores, at least here at UHH, seem to be Adorama (http://www.adorama.com), B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com) and Cameta (http://www.cameta.com).

I've not had any experience with Cameta, but I'm an Adorama VIP (Adorama and B&H have reps who frequent this forum, and are easily approachable) and have been 100% satisfied with my purchases from them.

I have never had a problem with B&H Photo. Their prices are competitive, their service is excellent and they have a vast selection available. There are several other good online stores, I'm sure you will get plenty of further advice here. Don't fall into the trap of just searching for the lowest price, a lot of shadier places sell refurbished cameras as new.

There are a couple of online stores that enjoy good reputations. My personal favorite and the one I use is B&H Photo. Extremely high ethics, good service, good pricing and a very good product return policy. Good luck.

Make sure you buy from an authorized dealer or you won't be able to get it serviced from Nikon.

This link has several online companies worthwhile;

Have dealt w/B&H several times - prices excellent & service top notch.
Recently purchased Epson R3000 printer and had it at my door in two days (shipped free).
Never a problem.

I have dealt with them all, but for a newbe,...I'd check out Cameta for a refurbished kit.

Costco has a good deal on a Nikon D5300 Kit with two lenses at the moment. $999.99. They have 100% satisfaction guaranty. If you are a Costco Member.

Stick with this "holy trinity." I would rank B&H first. Made my first purchase there in 1976...a super 8 movie camera and editor. No internet. Did it all by phone. Five years ago I bought a 46" Sony HDTV from them. It was shipped from their warehouse at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, with no charge for shipping...and no tax. All store operations cease during the observance of Jewish holidays and after mid-day Friday until Sunday. But you can still browse on the web site.

I have dealt with Cameta on camera kits/bodies - great.

Was not afraid to buy refurbed from them. Units performed perfectly.

Have purchased lenses only so far from B&H, no problems, no complaints.

If you don't like it when you get it you can (within 90 days) just take it or send it back. You can be sure it is not a refurbished unit or a gray market unit.
