Aha!! i work for our county, and some of my friends work for the jail,,, so i hear all about what it's like. God bless you guys !! and,, locking the doors sounds pretty good to me !!

I work in the Segregation Unit of a Correctional Facility. Several of us thought it might be fun to lock the doors and shut the computers off that control the doors so they would stay put but logic dictates that the Department of Corrections would take a dim view of such things. Then again, some people refuse to behave like civilized people so there would be that inevitable biohazard waste to clean up. :?

It does but we are contractually obligated to supervise the buggers and make sure that no harm comes to them. This works most of the time. Besides, number 2 on the Warden's list of 0 Tolerance things is unexplained death. Would it be wrong to say, Hey I know what happened, we left and they beat the crap out of each other. Sounds like an explanation to me.

Before someone accuses me of being morally bankrupt, please be advised, I'm just having a little fun.

Our facility has been fortunate in that regard. Only one such incident that I can recall and it is was explainable. Small guy tries to shake down much larger guy for his commissary and large guy takes offense. The sad part is that small guy died several days later and large guy was due to be paroled in 3-4 months. He received street charges for that one.

It's a strange world, that you folks deal with. i'm not sure i'd have the temperment, for their nonsense. i work in the county's print shop, we do all the printing for the whole county,,, some of the forms that are used by the corrections dept.,,,,, mind boggeling.

"No mushroom presents more of an enigma than the fly agaric, Amanita muscaria. It is the most recognizable mushroom on the planet, and is widely known as the hallucinatory ‘shroom responsible for Alice’s trip into Wonderland and quite possibly our beloved images of a red-suited Santa Claus and his flying reindeer." http://honest-food.net/2011/12/24/eating-santas-shroom/

It can be. WHat I find amusing is all the typos and such that is distributed around here.

The forms that we use that originate from DOC are relatively striaghforward and have correct spelling and punctuation. The stuff that is generated in-house is sometime comical. At the beginning of each shift we are handed a briefing that tells us who is on which response team and if anyone is needed for overtime etc. About 7 or 8 months ago someone sent out a facility wide memo explaining some change or other and if we had any questions we were to refer to the "shit briefing."

I don't know about the source but the computer I use has spell check on Word AND Excel. Too funny...
