I've tried unsuccessfully to download Adobe Lightroom 5.7 upgrade 3 times. After over an hour of downloading I get a message say that it can't be downloaded. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I am on a PC, had no issues. There are multiple threads on forums about compatibility with Mac Yosemite - including not being able to download, or disabling the link with Photoshop CC, or disabling plugins, etc.
Makes me happy I still use this unbelievably troublesome Windows computer.

Yes, I did. So I rebooted and it downloaded... I don't know what the issue was.. And am not sure if it was my system or if their system was busy. Anyway, I got it and then one it installed on my main computer, it installed fine on the others... It may be that I logged out of Adobe and re-logged in...This was on a PC running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate.. the other 2 are running Windows 7 64 bit Professional.

I did it yesterday on a Laptop PC.
I have a good Comcast cable connection. The download took about 5 or 10 minutes. My computer has an SSD and the installation took another 5 minutes.
No hiccups!
Same here, cable, SSD, fast laptop, took about 10 minutes.
Check your available drive space. I had a desktop folder with the installers for Lightroom 5.2, 5.3, 5.5, and 5.6 which consumed 3.42 Gb of drive space. I keep the download file so I can always recreate the installer files, but I am going to delete the oldest installers and keep just the current one.

I think the problem is in my computer. I had lightroom 5.6 running each time I tried to download 5.7. I will try again with nothing else running.
I think that's it. I installed the first time with LR running and other things, too. Not smart. Second time no problem although it does seem to load slower than before the update.
I, too, was very concerned when this happened to me. I learned that my catalog had been changed to lightroom 5. My original catalog was on a separate hard drive. I clicked on the icon & the original catalog loaded immediately. I was relieved :-D

When I found out Aperture was going to be no more I decided to go bck to LR. Just last week it was. CC14 etc., downloaded the first time,LR the second. Next step was to transfer all photos from Aperture, which went fine with no bugs. PP is has not been my thing, but I have dug my heels in and figured Winter was the best time to try and get the hang of all this. So very much for an old guy to try and pick up, but I will work on it. Wish me luck. :)
No problem, my network connection did it in about 2 minutes.
I tried from my laptop and it would not download. I am in Costa Rica and will wait to tgry when I arfrive back home on Wed.

The problem I had was after download I put images on for editing & did so. The next day there were no images that I put om the previous day. Any suggestions?
This is a somewhat vague question. Are ypu saying you imported images into Lightroom one day and the next day they're gone? Do you know which folder you imported them into? Is that folder no longer there? Is it empty. Were you able to view your images in the library or develop modes the day you imported them? Are you a new user of LR? Have you successfully imported images before?

after reading your post I went and downloaded 5.7, about 12 min.
I have mediocre satellite internet, and mine took almost an hour. It was a big one!

The file is nearly a gigabyte so will take some time. If you're having trouble with Adobe's server, I can put the installation file on a public dropbox location. I'm pretty sure that does not violate anything because you can't use it without a serial number.
That file is only the "install file" for this update. The update will then access Adobe again to fully install the LR5.7 program. All in all, I guess it took a little over 15 minutes to fully install and update the program.

Interesting, I did the upgrade in about 25 minutes with no problems at all.
It took only about 5 minutes, max, on my iMac.
