Does anyone have any sugest ions on a good warm pair of gloves to shoot with?

Look in the hunting/fishing departments. I found a pair of wool, Thinsulate-lined, that have openings for fingers and thumbs, but then a mitten-like covering for when you don't need your fingers :) Love them!
Sort of like this (quick grab from Google images)
Thinsulate makes a 40 gram , Deerskin, five finger glove. Sold by Hoots, phone number 716-397-1315. They sell for $ 20.00. I live near Buffalo N.Y. and need gloves that allow good feel to control your camera.

I just picked up a pair of fishing gloves from Bass Pro, no fingers tips, just enough protection while shooting, then hands go into pockets to stay limber .
I have knit a pair or two of these gloves, my boys love them.
Beside sports shops, also try places where they sell cell-phones - the gloves there would be sold under the name of "texting gloves".

Farm stores usually sell wool glove liners pretty reasonable. No finger holes, but I've always been able to run any camera with them on and they do keep your hands reasonably warm even in the coldest weather.
These mitten gloves are great. I wear a thin liner under them & for very cold conditions put a hand warmer in the mitten flap so it rests on the top of your fingers (can use toe warmers that just fit & stick to the mitten). It's easy to put just the trigger finger out keeping the rest warm.
I always keep an old pair of heavy cotton socks in my camera case. For use when my gloves have been lost or forgotten. They also serve well as a lens bag for protection.

Fingers are very convenient things and I never leave home without them.

When I lived in Wyoming for a millennium, I found that wool gloves with leather driver gloves over them keep my hands comfy most of the time.
When it got into the deep Sub-Zero's, Arctic mitten overs, with wool mittens inside worked well.
Hunting mittens can let your "trigger finger" come out for that shot.
I was in a local discounter a few years ago and found a hybrid pair of mitten/gloves. The mitten flap fit over the fingers of the gloves (which were cut off). The thumb was not cut off. When I get read to take a photography I lift off the mitten flap, take the photo, put the flap back over my fingers, and my hands stay warm. There was no label in the mitten/gloves, but they keep my hands warm even in the coldest weather.
