I was in a local discounter a few years ago and found a hybrid pair of mitten/gloves. The mitten flap fit over the fingers of the gloves (which were cut off). The thumb was not cut off. When I get read to take a photography I lift off the mitten flap, take the photo, put the flap back over my fingers, and my hands stay warm. There was no label in the mitten/gloves, but they keep my hands warm even in the coldest weather.
Just as the first comment pictured.

I use the same glove I use for fly fishing during the winter, a pair of rag wool fingerless gloves (without a mitten) that I got from Orvis years ago.

Is there any others out there that have Neuropathy. I shoot football and hockey games during the fall and winter months and it gets had to do after a short while. By half time or the third period my fingers tips turn bright red and I can't feel the shutter button or any buttons anymore. I have a pair of gardening gloves which I wear under a pair of thinsulate gloves but fingers tips still no good by the end of the games. A little help please, thinking I will also pick up some pockets warmers to see if that helps. Any NEW ideas? Don't want to hear, stay home....lol. I also have tried switching fingers but I only have five per hand.

A cable release could be a possibility. Especially if you have your camera on a tripod. The button end of the release could be with your hand in your pocket, and rather than your index finger, you'd use your thumb to press the button.
I have tried this only once myself, but found it worked quite well.

I put hand warmer packets in my pockets or even tucked into the glove on occasion for those extra cold days.

If I was using a tripod sounds good, but I'm on the bench with the players and a tripod is out of the question. I like the idea if I was using a tripod... thanks for the input.

I think that warmer packets will be the way to go this season.

Look in the hunting/fishing departments. I found a pair of wool, Thinsulate-lined, that have openings for fingers and thumbs, but then a mitten-like covering for when you don't need your fingers :) Love them!

I got a similar pair from adaroma.
