I hope it crashes the form of government we have now. It's so far away from the original design. As I see it now, it's ready to implode upon itself very soon.

Personally I would hope fore an orderly transition. Good luck with the anarchy you are campaigning for, if it comes about, the chances of it turning out to your liking are very slim.

I didn't twist anything you said on purpose. You said you hoped it would crash our current form of government, how does that happen without anarchy.

As I said … From within. As soon as the money runs out to give away, what use is it ??

I agree with the first part of your post.

And I agree, in large part, with the second part of your post.

I would find it interesting to see if your suggestion actually worked.
I find myself thinking of the consequences if it actually harmed the cormorants instead of causing them to relocate.

This may not be an issue for you, but if we do things that harm too many species, we may suffer unintended consequeces. All these animals are here serving a purpose.

Maybe I'm just too cautious.
I agree with the first part of your post. br br A... (show quote)

I don't think you're too cautious, Chris. I believe in caution. It's just too easy to overlook some things in a topic like this that has so many angles.

Out here in the west, we set about to save the "threatened" desert tortoise. The government built a fenced in refuge just outside Las Vegas to house "displaced" desert tortoises and began relocating them to this refuge. The tortoises persistently dug under the fence and escaped, so they rebuilt the fence so it was 14" underground (cost a fortune!). This went on for several years until there were too many tortoises in the refuge area and they were becoming diseased as a result of overcrowding. The government then decided they must control the tortoise population and cried to the people it was going to cost $9 apiece to euthanize the beasts...where was the money going to come from, for God's sake??

I used to hunt jack-rabbits out in the desert every weekend, largely without success, but it was fun. I saw desert tortoises out there quite often, doing just fine for themselves. I never felt compelled to bring any back to town to turn over to the "tortoise police", and I'm glad I didn't. I wouldn't worry about the cormorants, Chris. Wildlife has a way of taking care of themselves without any meddling from us.

I think you are really quick to say conservatives don't believe this when what you mean is you don't believe it. sometimes you are in the company of real wackos. We have had ours. Beam me up Scotty was a democrat but in many cases it looks like they have taken over the soul of the Republican party. I was going to say your party but I don't actually know if that is fair or accurate.

I'm not sure I like the idea of you deciding who is a "wacko" and who is not, Thom! And I don't think you'd like me to decide, either! In fact, I'm willing to suggest neither of us has the proper credentials, or time, or resources to take this task upon ourselves. How about, if there are wackos out there, let them go unnoticed by us? Okay?

I agree, but that also means that we stop encroaching on their habitats.

danilo... I don't think there must be giant evil multi-nationals... it is the business of government to protect its citizens from other countries and external groups as well as from business... Our government has just been bought out.

Bought out?

More like SOLD out!

The world looks at us and laughs, looks down at us, they All know we've got a fool for a president.

Reality is not part of the government's make up.

For 6 years, we have been screwed, our allies don't trust us and our enemies trust that we will not stand our ground.

The chaos, at every level, is disastrous to our existence and our future.

The present government is the problem.

We have become the world's lackey.

What's so hard to understand about Ted Cruz? That he's not in some lobbys hip pocket? I'm not from Texas but I have to believe that he campaigned on the promise to shrink government, eliminate Obamacare, and restore constitutional government. From where I sit it appears that is exactly what he is trying to do. Whoulda thunk it? An elected representative doing what they said they would. So I guess you are right, he's no politician.

$9 a piece? And here I thought the BLM just bought a billion rounds of ammo. Surely they got a discount.

The government does some things well, or at least they are big enough to do things citizens can't do alone. Infrastructure, Military, Tax collection are just some things the gov't does better than John Q Public. Saving small groups of animals is not one of them, clearly.

I think unnoticing wacko representatives is dangerous. Neither of us should be able to kick someone out because we think they are wacko, and we can't. But we both should point out what we think is wrong and if we disagree then we do.

It's hard to understand shutting down the government and then bitching because it's shut down.
