Since none of you know the experience level of these guys all any of you are doing is speculating.
It appears your camera is being fooled by the expanse of white water and is slightly underexposing.
When we were in Moro Bay we saw two kids swept out to sea, doing the same thing we could not do anything to help them, the under toe swept one out to sea and the other kid swam around the rocks to safety. he almost did not make it, the water was so cold and the rocks were so sharp we called 911 and the came and evacuated him to the Hosp.

Nice set, Vicki--I love ocean scenes. Yes, we have our share of risk takers, too. They don't always come home, unfortunately. :-) :-)

I couldn't believe this as I watched it unfold. Maybe this looked crazy from my perspective. I believe these fellows stayed on dry rocks, but I wouldn't have gone out on this outcropping. The surf along this section of coast is particularly treacherous.
These are pretty much right out of the camera with some minor auto tweaks and are posted more to document this episode in a series of 6 shots.
Beautiful and wild looking surf.

You would not catch me going out there. Yikes. Thanks for posting. I feel much saner now.
Can't decide if they are crazy or brave.

Beautiful photos, Vicki. I agree, though, I wouldn't have been standing there! :-)

They where very stupid to do this, well captured Vicki
That's how it appeared to me. It's possible it wasn't as dangerous as it looked.
Thanks for looking and commenting Jim.

Evidently they don't understand that the tide goes in and out, waves get bigger and smaller. Probably city types and don't really comprehend they aren't in Disneyland.
Except for whatever field they make their living they might not pass an IQ or Common Sense test.
People visiting the coast take chances all of the time, and some don't go home. I thought these guys might end up qualifying for the Darwin Awards.

Maybe dangerous...but what a rush...great set!
A rush maybe, but at what potential cost. You have to remember this is fairly cold water. If you don't drown, hypothermia will get you.
Thanks Bob.

A great documentary of risk taking. Fabulous shots!
I took the shots just out of interest and because I really couldn't believe these two would venture out so far on this rock. When the waves came in high enough to hide them, I began to wonder what was going to happen next.
Thanks for looking and commenting Sirius.

Excellent set Vicki, they can't have any nerves!! :-)
Thanks so much Sylvia. They either lack nerves or sense - maybe both.
