Digital photography makes for a lot of fun. there were about 15 shots waiting for the rest of the family. Probably would not have done that shooting with film.

They realised what I was doing after about the 5th click and started hamming it up a little.

We don't have any older relatives left .. no parents, grandparents, only a couple aunts and no uncles , couple hundred cousins and I have 5 out of 6 siblings left. Seems everyone in my family dies before reaching 70 .. I plan on breaking that chain. Richard (the hubby) and I decided if we survive Dec 21,2012 (end of the world as we know it and all that) We are just not leaving hahhaha.

well, It's not the end of the world & I'll tell ya why.......
'cause I found a can of soup in my cabinet that has an expiration date of 4-1-13 ;) ;) & they wouldn't put an expiration date on something past the "end of the world" date, LOL (hope that made ya smile a lil)

I read some of your writing the other day on your blog. I enjoyed it greatly. When I get time I want to read more. My husband is going to divorce me if I get anymore projects that cause me to be on the computer anymore than I am now with my political activism. :)

funny. I come from a line on my dad's side who live well into their 90's. My mom is 82 in April , but is in last stages of alzheimer's and I pray every day God will take her.

I know how you feel ... my mom was very sickly for a lot of years with diabetes and congestive heart failure, copd ... you name it she had it. But she was still raising my sister's kids .. so I made her come up to live with me in Illinois .. I didn't think she would last another 5 years when she first came ... However quality of life kicked in and she lasted another 12 years living with me .. then in 2006 when I moved to Maui there was no way she could walk from the elevator to the condo door ... just too much for her so she went to live with my older sister ... that was in may 2006 .. she passed away the day after her birthday in march 2007. I have to admit I was happy she wasn't suffering any more. It took me 2 years to be able to dump her ashes in the Pacific ocean on Maui and not feel like I was throwing her away. She just turned 69

This is fun I have so many pictures I can post I have been so blessed with family and friends.
My Grandfather passed away 10 years ago. I loved him so much. I cried so hard when I realized he wouldn't get a chance to meet and give my kids a nickname.
My Maw Maw passed more than 14 years ago. I spent my days with her when I was a child. She would not let anything be in my left hand she was determined for me not to be left handed. Unfortunately it didn't work. I am sooo left handed lol.
I loved anything Strawberry Shortcake. I had the dolls, the bedding, the curtains, clothes I even had a play kitchen with her on it. I begged my mom to take me to toys r us to meet Strawberry Shortcake. You would have thought I was meeting Elvis.

Phgrl - Beautiful strawberry hair. It's the hair and body shape that date us!
RNan - love that Kindergarten pict - but even better the one of you and hubby.Handsome couple
bbqpowered - impressive! My dad was a cheerleader in college in the late 30s and if us kids hadn't seen pix, we'd never have believed it!
Laska - you haven't changed a bit>>>I had glasses just like yours, the bigger, the classier. I can see your mother in you

p2
AnneM - we had a wagon like that too
BevBled - what faces. And the curlers! and the carsÂ…
Brenner - I remember summers being so hot and only the hose to cool us - sometimes the hydrants. We'd volunteer to wash the car - just to get wet!
Marilia - Precious. I still have my first doll and some that were Mom's. She made a total new wardrobe for one of my dolls every Christmas.

P3
Bev - kids look the same from generation to generation, don't they?

P4
GG - so glad you proved everyone wrong.Love your dress.

P5
Susie - nice picture with a sad story
Rufnar - love those l'il cowpokes and who is that young man with the dark hair?
Mtn. Climbers - looks as if you have always enjoyed life

P6
Chris - you have always kept that smile. Loved the "then and now" guitar
Jubi - I can see the same facial shape in you, Mom and Grandmother. Special pictures.
Frankie - so love the oldies. You and Cheyenne are beautiful. Love the one of Cheyenne tending to her cousin
Marilia - you make me wish knew you and your family. Looks like there is so much love and fun.
RR - knew you would come up with something! Love that sour looking face in the first picture - seems that was the "way" one was supposed to look when they had a picture taken!

Welcome to Day 58 :) I was sitting here thinking about this challenge for today .. feeling kind of nostalgic .. so I thought why not make this one about Personal Photography. Photos that capture a moment in time..places you've been, things you've done, people you will never see again, and when you look at them it takes you back to that moment in time. The kind of photography that probably doesn't mean anything to anybody but you. I have a lot of those. Photos of my mom and dad who have both passed away. Pictures of my children growing up, special people in my life .... things that make them totally unique. Best of all we don't even need to leave the house for this one. I look forward to what's personal to you.
