Great shots, Vicki.

I went to some wetlands near me the other day that is supposed to be a bird and butterfly sanctuary; didn't see either. Oh well, I live on a river where Egrets fish so I don't totally miss out.

Again, great pics; would make some great posters.

Nice series Vicki...

I made a quick stop to see what was happening at the local water hole late this afternoon. There was a huge flock of gulls, but a short drive down the frontage road turned up some other birds.

Please feel free to offer suggestions. These were shot with the Canon 7D and 100-400L.

The hardest part of getting these is getting in and out of the car after parking at various locations along the frontage road. That's the truth. The more elaborate version would mention hiking for hours on end over all kinds of obstacles with no water, cardboard in my shoes, and 25 lbs. of camera gear on my back. :-)

Thanks my friend. You're very kind and I appreciate your lovely comments.

Sometimes you never know what you're going to get. I drove around one afternoon in an attempt to get some shots of a herd of cows I'd seen earlier. I came home with shots of butterflies.

Thanks for looking. I'm glad you enjoyed these.

Wonderful images of bird reflected in the water. I love #2 as it seems the bird is admiring him/herself and ready to kiss the reflection.

It's interesting to watch birds deal with their reflections. Other animals react to them as well, but birds don't figure out that what they're seeing is just a manifestation of light. I saw a tom turkey fan his tail and show off to "the bird" in a very shiny hubcap one time.

Thanks for looking and your kind comments. I appreciate it.

Thank you my friend. They're not quite as exotic as what you've been getting.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your travel photos. It's been too long since we visited that part of the country. In many instances the scenery is breathtaking.
