I made a quick stop to see what was happening at the local water hole late this afternoon. There was a huge flock of gulls, but a short drive down the frontage road turned up some other birds.

Please feel free to offer suggestions. These were shot with the Canon 7D and 100-400L.

Love them all! I wanted to make it to the wetlands in our area this weekend but time ran out!

Sadly the wetlands are drying up at a record rate. This one has survived by some miracle but is shallower than it appears . The birds seem to find plenty to eat. Thanks for taking time to look. I'm glad you liked these.

Great shots. Love the reflections.
I have been disappointed when going to the wetlands
that are near me. They are mudd holes without much
to look at. Thanks for sharing these.

Excellent set, Vicki. I love the reflections. Our wetlands are also very dry--we need some good rain to top them up. :-) :-)

Nice series, Vicki! I especially like the last one--there's always someone marching to their own drum. Nice composition. And the reflections in the first couple are great!
