I am considering buying a Nikon D-5200 and cant afford multiple lenses right away. What order would you purchase lenses. Is it ok to buy lenses on Ebay?

Thanks

I like the 80-200mm VR II with my D5200 as a first lens. I bought both camera and the lens refurb from Adorama. I also got the 35mm 1.8 but use the 80-20 98% of the time. I also use an EXIF extractor and pull all my shots into a spreadsheet and get a percentage of shots at each focal length. While I thought I wanted a longer lens, I found that of about 9000 shots, 27% were at 18mm and only 6% at 200. My next purchase will be a wide-angle zoom, like 11-16mm Tokina f2.8.

To avoid confusion: Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 lenses do not have VR, while Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 or f/4 lenses do have VR.

11-16mm is good so is the sigma 10-20mm maybe a tad better and a little
longer on each end . I would choose the least costly one . I know of a long time writer and tester of nikon lenses , who put the sigma in his bag to take the place of his nikon wide 11-24 or 12-24 ? no mater he liked the sigma better than both , and he's been using it for over two years now .

I'm glad that got cleared up, your response now makes a lot more sense. :-)
