Also, I am a lover of the Dachshund breed of dog, bred with short, strong legs and oversized chest for digging underground in pursuit of badgers. I am happy to report that the predator|prey situation, promoted by brainless humans, no longer exists, and each is again safe from the other.

I was completely unaware of the history of the Dachshund until ebrunner posted last night. A neighbour of mine has two that he walks by our house and I had never really looked closely at them before but I can see now why they have been bred that way. Even so they must be pretty gritty little animals as they are still dwarfed by the badger. Happily, as you say they are both now safe.
