I'll have to retake the photos and post because I posted the others right out of the camera

Straight out of a D5300?
Did you miss that question, or ignore it on purpose?
When you retake them, take them from a tripod without shifting it so that they are taken from the same spot.

Tripod mounted, from exactly the same spot, not handheld?

I'm not sure what this is supposed to demonstrate.

The only pictures which we need are
* D5300, 35mm DX lens
* D5300, 35mm FX lens
so you will see that the "DX/FX" lens designation does not affect the focal length or field of view of the lens. They will look identical on the D5300.

Yes you are correct, they do look the same on the D5300 and diffrent on the D600. Thank you for getting me straight on that. So what is the benifit for getting a DX lens if it's going to be 52.5mm all the time. And never a 35mm, or is it???

They are less expensive to produce since they do not need to project the image to the edge of a larger sensor. They are also lighter for the same reason. The downside is that if you move to FF they will only work in crop mode on the camera.
You can see how each lens looks on different bodies here

The Nikon 35mm f/1.8G DX is $200, while the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G FX is $600, for exactly the reason skiman said. There are very few DX prime or pro/pro-sumer zoom lenses, because the FX lenses also work with the DX cameras.

So the only way to actally get 35mm's is to use one of the , also cheep, DX Zooms at f/3.5 ??? Or my 17-35 croped to 25-52mm???

A 24mm lens would give you a 36mm (full frame equivalent), or use a zoom at 24mm. There are a few good DX zooms, and one excellent DX zoom, the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC.

Yes, your 17-35 2.8 set to 23-24mm would be your best option.

Yes, I wasn't paying attention to which lens it was. That is an excellent option.
