Deciding on a Prime lens for Nikon D5300

so you will see that the "DX/FX" lens designation does not affect the focal length or field of view of the lens. They will look identical on the D5300.

I had lots of practice, about six attempts over two topics until I finally said it in a way which made sense. :-)

I looked at my 2 lenses. The 35mm f/1.8 says DX, while the 50mm has no indication, DX or FX. It does have a DoF scale.

Ok, I believe this issue has been settled. A 35mm FX lens is a true 35mm lens, and a 35mm DX lens is also a true 35mm lens. Both give the identical field of view.
