David, I really appreciate your examination and comments!
When this was shot, and presently, I chose a time when the ambient lighting was relatively low (8:30 am). At the time this camera was made, noise abatement was not nearly as advanced as it is now, so I shot almost everything with the lowest ISO available. In my experience, even the slightest breeze will create subject motion that can be offset somewhat with a higher shutter speed.
As with most shots, there are many settings that will get you there.
