Hi,
Can I get some feedback on the 40mm "pancake" lens & the EF-S 10-18 f/4.5-5.6 IS STM? The first is for portraits & the second is for landscapes.
Thank you!

DP, both are the new STM lenses. That meams they have quiet stepper motors for shooting video, and won't be part of the soundtrack.
They are also the new compact design and work well to keep the SL-1 smaller, without going to a special lens.
The 40 is a little short for portraits but would get the job done if its all you have.
Preferably a little longer and a little faster as well, such as the 50 1.4/1.8 or the 85 1.8, or longer and fast. ;-)

I just bought the 10-22mm wide-angle. That is the standard wide-angle for a cropped-sensor camera. It is not the new STM lens, which would be useful if you will shoot video through it. I am very pleased with this lens - I posted this today:
