As far as I am concerned Nikon does not manufacture sensors for digital cameras but buy them from Sony.
Years back they worked on a sensor they called LBCAST which was the sensor they used in the professional D2H, a very good sensor with big, fat megapixels capable of producing a neutral palette of colors but plagued with noise at high IS0.
As I said, I have not heard or read anything about them working with digital sensors for cameras.

They are never accurate. Ironic for a site serving people who claim devotion to accuracy.

There are 25 "main stream" companies and many others (specialty). I did not find Nikon listed by "Nikon", however Sony is listed.

Jerry, there is a movie ... well... you could make your chips at home, very detailed steps.

We've heard about Sony making sensors for other companies. Now it looks like the tables are turned. According to snapsort, the Sony RX100 III uses a Nikon sensor.

Thanks for that link. As soon as I get my 3D printer, I'll make the equipment needed to manufacture them. :D

Remember what Abe Lincoln said "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet."

Sensors for some Nikon cameras come from Sony, some come from other manufacturers.

Phew! Jerry, I'm glad it was Sony and not Canon. Imagine the kerfuffle if it was? We'd have to disband this section!
