Wow! Didn't realize an SLR could have doubled as a DSLR even before Digital was invented in 1971! Shoulda used my OM-2 in the same regard...

When ya gonna learn :?:

An XTI the 400D from Canon, got it many years ago and still use it today, as it takes great photos, added a 5D to the set.

Yesterday with my XTI and an L lens.

This simply corroborates Ken Rockwell's statements that say 8 to 10 MP is all you need, and more. Nice shot, for sure; and it also corroborates my contention that to shoot the highest quality of JPEG available is really all you'd ever want, or need, when done right! :D

Hey thanks.

I was in school; Maurizio Salvatis lighting class at NMIT when I shot "Olivia". She's one of the other Students doing Photoimaging there.

Anyway, it's thanks to Maurits excellent tutelage, that I got that exposure right... Portraiture is not my strong point... needs work. Next monday I have to do 2 "Hollywood" portraits with a view camera.

I'm going to try to recreate Edward Steichens 1928 shot of Gretta Garbo and Clarence "Sinclair" Bulls 1931 shot of her too... wish me the best of mathematical probability... I'm gunna need it.

Hey thanks. br br I was in school; Maurizio Salva... (show quote)

I think you'll be fine! But to use a view camera??! Good luck, but you're smart and talented (a perfect combination) and you'll figure it out. Maybe bracket your exposures by 1/2 stop up and down.

No. The question specified DSLR, not camera.

Started the digital journey with a Nikon D3000. Had to undo many years of film work. Then moved up to a Nikon D90 and finally up to a Sony NEX-7.

Nikon D90.

I went with it because my last film camera was a Nikon N40 and the same lenses fit the D90.

My first was Canon Rebel,
Why it was the first sub $1000 DSLR camera body.
A friend had been shooting Canon bodies and I had gotten a chance to use them.
After I started purchasing lenses for Canon bodies unless I have a validated winning lottery ticket in my possession I will not be able to switch camera bodies.

Mine was a Nikon D80 recommended by a wedding photographer 6 years ago. I finally bought one, used, found on Craigslist for $225 with a kit 18-135 lens.
Still shooting with it and loving it. As it turned out the lens is damaged. You can see 2 pieces of plastic inside the lens that affect the autofocus (only when shooting portrait).
I've added a 28-70 lens also from Craigslist, this one is perfect.

Mine was also the D80 with a 24 - 135 Kit lens that was fantastic. Why??? Because my first granddaugter was on her way. She is now 10 and I have a D300S and D800 and way too many lenses and accessories. As well as thousands of photos of my granddaughter.

A FujiFilm S2 Pro. It had a different style sensor than anything else, which I wanted to try, and I could use my Nikon Nikkor AI lenses from my Nikon 35mm cameras.
