Where are you in Indiana? Ft Wayne has a really great local shop that has prices comparable to what you would find online. Sunny Schick. No, I don't work there, but I sure want to keep them around.

If you are interested in Canon go to the Canon store on the internet and look at their refurbished. The prices are good and you get the same warranty as a new camera. I got my 7D from them and have had no trouble at all. Refurbished is one of the best ways to go....Rich

Hi Realist101--welcome to the hog--where in Indiana are you from? I'm from Columbus. Every one has recommend pretty much what I would. If you are looking for a camera for art work you might look at utube to get an idea on how it is done. Nowdays you can pick up a refurbished Nikon or Canon at great prices from reputable dealers. Look for refurbished by the Nikon or Canon etc. Some sell refurbished equipment on ebay but read closely because the work is done by the seller. Stay away from them. Robert's in Indianapolis is a gould place to check out cameras as Jack's Camera in Muncie, Cord Camera in Bloomington and other locations.Good luck hunting. A good lens is also need but on the wide angle side be careful since some wides had distortion. I took photos with an older canon p&s with a 10x lens for a friends artwork and was able to get the texture of the canvas. Good luck hunting. If you need reasonable priced prints I ave a friend in Columbus that is in the biz of fine art prints.

Hello from another hoosier. Depending on where you are in the state, you might stop by Roberts Camera Store in Indianapolis. Very nice store. Have many cameras in store. The employees are friendly. They also have refurbished cameras available.

Welcome to UHH Susan, glad you joined us. Try looking at refurbished cameras at Nikon Store, Adorama, B&H and KEH. All reputable companies. Try going to your local camera store to check out the brand (s) and model (s) you picked out. See how they feel in your hands, the lay out of the controls, etc. Let us know which one you finally chose. Enjoy the forum and have fun.

Hi I've shopped Sunny Schick many years ago back in the late 80's. I bought a nice lens/shutter for my Speed Graphic 4x5. I love that store--good to know it's still there. Haven't been up in many years--need to make the trip.

Hi there. I'm in Laf. and our only good shop went out of business. It was great. I'll have to try Indy I guess. Or online. :)

Hi! Yes, I'm looking there too. I cannot believe all the models and different prices. VERY confusing to a newbie. :/
