just beautiful :-)
I put out some romaine lettuce and celery (all the veggies we had in the fridge) - not sure what else to put out for her.....

Nice shots! I am constantly amazed at the abundant and varied wildlife we get treated to here in Florida!

I have one in the back of my old chicken house - found out she's been stealing my cat food - had to increase from 3 scoops to 4 scoops so the cats get their share LOL...
Will be glad when the babies are grown and gone...

That last shot shows them up beautifully. They will eat almost anything: bread soaked in milk, soaked dog/cat food, etc. They aren't picky. I put out all sorts of food for them, as well as for deer, birds, raccoons, foxes, etc. My brother found and raised 6 babies who had been orphaned when their mother was hit by a car. They were still trying to nurse on their dead mama. :-( Keep some food out, & thanks for helping them.

Actually possums are immune to rabies (they don't carry or spread rabies), they eat bugs and little rodents - they're gentle, don't attack or bite unless cornered or threatened - as far as I'm concerned she is a welcome guest in our garden, and if I can help her in any way, then I will. After doing lots of research, I found out that a possum is a GREAT little creature to have in your garden - she's not a threat to anyone!

trouble is, in this heat, any milk put outside goes rancid after just a few minutes.... so I put out carrots and grapes and things for her... they remain untouched :-( haven't seen her again but I hope she and her offspring are safe somewhere :-)

At one point, she actually looked at me and I could hear her sigh... she was thinking "oh, they are SO heavy...."
