I love my "travel" camera -- Sony RX 100II. Meets all your criteria and then some, but without viewfinder. Large sensor, 1.8 fast lens, manual or staggering array of options, configure as you like.
I second this recommendation. I have the X100 (previous version), and it takes astonishing pictures. Large sensor, beautiful bokeh, sharp, fixed 33mm APC-sized lens (about 50mm), great build quality and it even looks like a Leica! It has an eye-level finder, but you can also use it in screen mode. When I put it up to my eye, it automatically changes from screen mode to the eye-level finder.

I have a Canon EOS 40 D with some outstanding lenses but want to find a travel camera that has most of the following assets:
An optical viewfinder A decent optical zoom with some kind of stabilizer for the zoom A very good sensor A camera that does great in low light photography A camera that shoots in RAW A camera without interchangeable lenses since it would be a travel camera A camera that isn`t bulky. I use CS-5 Adobe Shop for MAC.
A couple of months ago, I found a Leica that did some of the above but am just looking at different ideas. I do like Leica`s scene modes that I used on my son`s My camera takes incredible clear shots. I realize I won`t be able to get as good of shots as my existing camera.
I`m also looking at a smaller camera because of some major shoulder issues that has prevented me from taking photos like I normally would.
I realize you have to give up something to get something else but am just wondering if you had any ideas for me?
I also found a Nikon P 7800 yesterday that looks like it will do most of what I am looking for. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions for me?

Canon SX 50. Cheap implies quality. It is not cheap however it is relatively inexpensive considering it's capability. The SX50 has a viewfinder, articulating screen, a full complement of adjustments including RAW and you can attach an outboard flash on the accessory clip on top. The quality of the images imo are exceptional. Optical zoom 50X. Before you buy, check it out. If you can find a better bridge camera for the price - buy that. By the way I posted a photo on UHH from Duluth with a speck in the sky - the speck was a . . .look it up.
