AGREED!
Don't know why Sony didn't keep the A77's burst rate in the A99, but overall the FF image quality stacks up with canikon cameras costing considerably MORE... and the user interface is much easier to use IMHO.
IF I had the disposable income, I'd STRONGLY consider the A99 as my FF replacement. As it is, I'll be looking at the Sony next generation full-frame mirrorless as my next camera as well as the A7/A7R. ;)

You'll get NO argument from me.
I've discovered that people who own other imaging systems from Nikon and Canon start out being curious about my A77, but after a few minutes handling it they get really, REALLY interested. ;)

My ex-wife is a Canon shooter and loves her 6D, but isn't necessarily a Canon "fangirl". We're very close friends, and she has a tremendously artistic eye for composition and color, trained from her film days. She said she'd trade with me any day, just let her know when I get tired of it. I said, don't hold your breath... it's exactly what I wanted. She also thinks the Zeiss lenses are just a tad better than her comparable L lenses, and she loves her L glass. The Sony A99 and A77 are indeed very competitive, but her 6D puts out some beautiful visual product in lower-light situations, and gives nice colors to be sure. The 6D is excellent for what it is, namely an all-purpose shooter but not for sports.

I think the A99's replacement will have a much larger buffer, at least 10-11 fps frame rate, and continuous-adjusting autofocus to give the big Nikon and Canon a run. I also think their new EVF is going to redefine how people view the world.

To ALL the Sony a77 camera fans.
Thanks a lot for all the good info. After 3 days of having the camera in my hands, I'm impressed with the entire package. The instruction book (yes, I'm the one that reads it) is easy to work with, unlike a lot of others. But I have a lot to learn on this camera.
The added information all you photographers are writing about is being kept and will be used. This is like getting some schooling, but not paying for it. But I always get a lot of info. from the camera users after schools. As I have said, I'm always learning.
Below is a web cast I intend to listen to & perhaps join into that I got from B&H. Not that I want a "newer & better" Sony, but the subject & speakers sound good. I'd be interested in hearing what some of you that are already shooting with the Sony think of web cast.
Thanks again for growing my head because I made a good choice of camera & lens.

This is very interesting to me. I will set up like this on my camera. I have seen too many "photographers" that go much too high with the SO settings regularly & spoil the photos.
Any more good suggestions for this camera will be appreciated.

Wayne, You have an extremely powerful and flexible new tool, but if you REALLY want to get the best out of your new camera, check out the Gary Friedman book.
It is EXCELLENT... a must have for A77 owners. Ask some of the other A77 shooters who have it and they'll agree; it's a GREAT resource that will help you put that new camera through it's paces.

Thanks. I'll check it out (or in).
There is so much in the modern camera's computer, it would be foolish not to learn how to use all the features that are in the camera. It took me a long time to thoroughly be able to use all the capabilities of my last camera. And I run into people all the time who are not able to get the most & best from their cameras because they have not taken the time or effort to learn to use what they have in their camera. I know I am a lot more pleased with the results after I learn how to improve my photos by using the controls and programs properly.

The Friedman book & a lot of his stuff look great. I will get his book on the a77. Looks like it will educate me and save me time I would have spent experimenting to see what the best ways were to use the camera functions. AND MORE!
The youtube series has a lot of good stuff also. I have gotten some good info. already from it.
